Thu 24th May 2018 - Rocky Mountain National Park
Veritas Boulder
V7 Menwax Boulder 10m Mega Classic
OMG! 8 sessions to get it. Got the moves since 1st session and 2-linked it on the 2nd. Every single move (of the 10 moves before the slab) is hard. Hardest boulder I've ever done! Felt sad, almost. Full value V7 for sure. So psyched!

Sat 2nd Sep 2017 - Rocklands
Agterpakhuis De Pakhuys Far Plateau B: Minki
7B Minki - with Maria Jose Tamayo Boulder Mega Classic
OMG! First V8! A critical piece broke off some time back, making the kneebar-to-heel-hook beta very unlikely. So, I made up my own beta. Big move to feet-first climbing to a hard turn-around glory! Big moment for me, first time I progress a grade since shortly before I got injured. Motivating!

Mon 28th Aug 2017 - Rocklands
Agterpakhuis De Pakhuys Big and Roof Boulders K: The Weekend Starts Here
6B The Weekend Starts Here - with Maria Jose Tamayo, Igor Khudoshin, Jin Chan Boulder Mega Classic
Possibly one of the finest of the grade. Stout, reachy, delicate and commiting. So good!

Mon 28th Aug 2017 - Rocklands
Agterpakhuis De Pakhuys Big and Roof Boulders J: Dreamer
6B Hav! - with Maria Jose Tamayo, Jin Chan, Igor Khudoshin Boulder Mega Classic

Agterpakhuis De Pakhuys Bonus Boulders E: Buff the Banana
6A+ Chop Chop - with Maria Jose Tamayo, Jin Chan, Igor Khudoshin Boulder Very Good
Didn't flash on fear on being impaled by the boulder behind me

7A Buff the Banana - with Maria Jose Tamayo, Jin Chan, Igor Khudoshin Boulder Classic
Found a better beta than 3 years ago, and suddenly it felt a lot easier. Stoked!

Sat 26th Aug 2017 - Rocklands
The Pass Roadside Boulders G: Gadget
6A+ Casper - with Maria Jose Tamayo, Jin Chan, Igor Khudoshin Boulder Mega Classic
Classic and photogenic jug haul. Very fun indeed!

Sat 26th Aug 2017 - Rocklands
The Pass Roadside Boulders D: Bryce
6B+ Warmer - with Maria Jose Tamayo, Jin Chan, Igor Khudoshin Boulder Very Good
Very painful sharp pockets. Couldn't flash it cause pain.

6C Squeezed - with Maria Jose Tamayo, Jin Chan, Igor Khudoshin Boulder Classic
Super nice techy climb with an awkward top-out. Maria's first Rocklands 6C/V5!

6B+ Your Move - with Maria Jose Tamayo, Jin Chan, Igor Khudoshin Boulder Classic
Hard move to start and not dab- once you stick it, it's flowy moves for the rest!

Sat 26th Aug 2017 - Rocklands
The Pass Roadside Boulders B: Roadside Boulder
6C Roadside Traverse - with Maria Jose Tamayo, Jin Chan, Igor Khudoshin Boulder Classic
Long pumpy traverse with a big move in the middle, finishes with vertical climbing. Very good.

Fri 25th Aug 2017 - Rocklands
The Pass Rhino Boulders D: Stalker on the Horizon
6C+ 7A Bols Island - with Maria Jose Tamayo, Igor Khudoshin, Jin Chan Boulder Mega Classic
I did the LHV of this route (as far as I can tell, one can go left and finish up in the hole or go up and right), so that feels more like 6C+. Very nice, strengthy and techy. Will have to come back for the 7A version

Fri 25th Aug 2017 - Rocklands
The Pass Rhino Boulders B: Warm-up Boulder
6A+ Third Day On - with Maria Jose Tamayo, Jin Chan, Igor Khudoshin Boulder Mega Classic
Stout. Super nice crimpy edges take you up and left. One of the best boulders at this grade I've done!

6A+ Cassy - with Maria Jose Tamayo, Jin Chan, Igor Khudoshin Boulder Classic
One long move, the rest is fun jug hauling on a mild overhang. Fun!

6B+ It Was Your Body - with Maria Jose Tamayo, Jin Chan, Igor Khudoshin Boulder Classic
Maria's anti-style and last send of the trip. Super nice and sharp sloping rail on a natural wind tunnel. Strengthy.

Fri 9th Jun 2017 - Joe's Valley
Right Fork Jitterbug
V5 Mono E Mono - with Maria Jose Tamayo Boulder Mega Classic
Excellent boulder. Not sure about the exact date. Harder topout than expected! Can't wait to go back to Joe's!

Sun 19th Jun 2016 - Rocky Mountain National Park
Moraine Park Warm-up Boulder
V4 V4 - with Maria Jose Tamayo, Matt, Dana Boulder 3m Classic
One hard heel hook move, then balancy and thin in the feet. Very enjoyable!

Sun 19th Jun 2016 - Rocky Mountain National Park
Moraine Park Trailside Boulder
V7 Lip Traverse - with Maria Jose Tamayo, Matt, Dana Boulder 2m Classic
So stoked to be back here! After a long absence on outdoor bouldering, it doesn't get better than this. Also the fastest V7 I've done yet! Had an enjoyable, albeit baking hot, day with Maria, Matt and Dana. Matt made it look super easy XD

Thu 3rd Dec 2015 - Joe's Valley
New Joe's Contact
V6 V7 Stink Eye - with Maria Jose Tamayo, JuanMa Boulder Very Good
Really good arete climbing, but don't think it's V7- more like hard V5 or V6 tops. Did it in cold conditions- great movement, but always in the shade

Sat 17th Oct 2015 - Joe's Valley
New Joe's Area 51 Marble Cake
V3 Joe Cool - with Maria Jose Tamayo Boulder 5m Very Good
While Maria sent her first V6 (Fig Fart)!!!!!! SO PSYCHED!!! She found very smart beta for it and sent quickly after. Only 3 sessions! WOW!

Fri 16th Oct 2015 - Joe's Valley
Left Fork Mine Court Kill by Numbers
V5 Kill by Numbers - with Maria Jose Tamayo Boulder 2m Mega Classic
Really good. Completely my style, shoulda flashed it! Always good to go to Joe's

Fri 9th Oct 2015 - Rocky Mountain National Park
Tyndall Gorge Chaos Canyon Lower Chaos Canyon The Automator Boulder
V7 Tommy's Arete - with Jake Boulder 5m Mega Classic
OMG!!!! First V7 in CO! And quite possibly the second best boulder I've ever done (Human Energy)! Outstanding moves on amazing rock and the best possible scenery as one tops out- Lake Haiyaha! Woo-Hoo-ed out loud as I topped out! Two days for this guy. On my first attempt today, I fell really awkwardly and experienced extremely sharp pain in my ankle... I hope it's OK! In any case, PSYCHED for the first big send of the season!

Fri 9th Oct 2015 - Rocky Mountain National Park
Tyndall Gorge Chaos Canyon Lower Chaos Canyon Revenge Area
V5 Unknown V5 - with Samson, Jake Boulder 3m Classic
Usually I let this one right at the end of my sessions- today was no exception! Will attribute the send to the fact that I started campussing for the first time in over a year- HUGE move to a crimp, then keep the core tension high to match- that's it! Finally got it after Jake did his crazy beta to send it which didn't work for me

Sat 19th Sep 2015 - Denver
Mount Evans Gateway Boulder
V6 Downtrail Face - with Max Boulder 5m Mega Classic
Worked it last saturday and got really close, but couldn't send because I got tired from repetitive trying. Sent it second go this time! Awesome line- one of the harder V6's that I've done and with intricate beta. Was super stoked that Max also managed to send at the end of the day despite being super worked from all the climbing that went down!

Sun 6th Sep 2015 - Joe's Valley
Left Fork Big Joe/Riverside Kelly's Rock
V5 Kelly's Arete - with Maria Jose Tamayo Boulder 5m Very Good
Hardest V5 ever! Every move is hard, and the top is psychological AND hard! Had been a while since a V5 took me more than a day! Very satisfying to complete!

Sun 16th Aug 2015 - Rocky Mountain National Park
Tyndall Gorge Chaos Canyon Lower Chaos Canyon Revenge Area
V6 Revenge - with Maria Jose Tamayo, Morgan, Alex Boulder 3m Very Good
Two days for this one- pumped out the first! Crux is avoiding the dab and not pumping out at the end. Starts with a few good compression moves on slopers and crimps, then moves on to a very pumpy campusy traverse with a pumpy and psychological finish. Not stellar, but satisfied I could at least do this in a high gravity day!

Sat 11th Jul 2015 - Rocky Mountain National Park
Tyndall Gorge Emerald Lake
V6 V5 The Kind - with Maria Jose Tamayo, Morgan, Alex Boulder 3m Mega Classic
Did the V6 sit start variation. First V6 in Colorado! Truly amazing place. I can honestly say that this is probably the most beautiful bouldering area I have been to. The granite is unique- very featured and perfect texture. Beautiful summer day out catching up with Morgan and Alex, walked out in the rain (with a gorgeous rainbow to boot), as is traditional in the area. Looking forward to many more, hopefully soon. Perfect end of a busy week. Fingers crossed!

Sat 13th Jun 2015 - Peña de Bernal
Rancho Chichi'Dho Duty Free The Junkyard
V5 Tetris - with Maria Jose Tamayo, juan, mariana Boulder Mega Classic
Mega classic. Sit start on big sloping rail, traverse right on crimps using slopey heel hooks, and then do three big moves that require some body tension. The end part is no gimmie, pumps you and can spit you even if you have the end jug. First time I fall after doing the redpoint crux, felt weird for sure, totally uncharacteristic. Managed to send, though!

V3 Dia D - with Maria Jose Tamayo, juan, mariana Boulder Mega Classic
Classic at the grade for sure. Bit of an easy traverse, into a crimper sequence to a big move to a good crimp. Psychological but fun! Two shots.

Sat 13th Jun 2015 - Peña de Bernal
Rancho Chichi'Dho Boulder City Downtown
V6 Naranja Mecanica - with Maria Jose Tamayo, juan, mariana Boulder Mega Classic
Done! Second day on, got flash pumped for the first time in my life, did not know what that felt like! After my first two tries, the pump did not subside in like an hour- ridiculous! Anyway, glad I got it done

Fri 1st May 2015 - Peña de Bernal
Rancho Chichi'Dho Boulder City Las Afueras
V5 Malo pa los Nombres - with Maria Jose Tamayo Boulder Mega Classic
Sit start on two crimpers with a bad slopey right foot, 4 moves on a 60-70 degree overhang. Short and low but good. Gotta engage the crimps!

Tue 28th Apr 2015 - Peña de Bernal
Rancho Chichi'Dho Boulder City Downtown
V3 Gripe Aviar - with Maria Jose Tamayo, Juan, Mariana Boulder Mega Classic
Was spraying beta to Maria and Juan, then when I got on it for the flash attempt it spit me and my beta out HARD. Tried a high foot beta and went without a hiccup. Very nice line.

Sat 25th Apr 2015 - Peña de Bernal
Rancho Chichi'Dho El Capitan Calzon El Capitan Calzon
V5 Aminoguana - with Maria Jose Tamayo, Juan, Mariana Boulder Mega Classic
Significantly harder than the other V5's around here, more beautiful as well. Powerful, precise, heady and all-around awesome. Felt like a great ending to a great day

Sat 25th Apr 2015 - Peña de Bernal
Rancho Chichi'Dho Boulder City El Barrio
V3 El Abuelo - with Maria Jose Tamayo, Juan, Mariana Boulder Mega Classic
Excellent line of crimps. A must-do in the area for sure. Has it all within the style. Needless to say, Maria loved it

Sat 25th Apr 2015 - Peña de Bernal
Rancho Chichi'Dho Boulder City Los Suburbios
V7 El Tendon de Aquiles - with Maria Jose Tamayo, Juan, Mariana Boulder Mega Classic
Aw, YISS!!! Tried it for 3 days over 2 months or so. Crimpy and remarkably trickery-free, kinda pure that way. Fell at the top a few times, including one where I fell right on the tree, scraping my leg kinda badly but my pants were strangely not torn. Top is not hard, you just can't see what you're doing. Fourth V7! I think I'll start trying Fusion (V8) now.

Fri 10th Apr 2015 - Joe's Valley
New Joe's Chips
V7 Chips - with Maria Jose Tamayo Boulder 5m Mega Classic
This was probably my best line of the trip- only 5 hard and technical moves- crossover to a crimp, slapping the face, slapping the rail, grabbing the bad pinch, and launching for the dyno. Powerful, yet very technical. I even did it with a day of climbing to spare. When I stuck the dyno, even though I didn't know what to do next, I just held on and blood blistered my hands. So worth it. So good. Bring on "Tendon de Aquiles" in Bernal!

Tue 7th Apr 2015 - Joe's Valley
New Joe's Chips
V7 Planet of the Apes - with Maria Jose Tamayo Boulder 5m Mega Classic
OMG, hadn't been as psyched to work a boulder since Human Energy... Such an incredible line! Powerfest for sure. First V7 since Mr. Moran back in November. Compression, slopers, crimps, power, and a strong mantle. Went from not being able to do the moves to sending using a sloper at the top nobody uses. The fact that people kept coming to this boulder (padding the f*ck out of it) relentlessly sending the line helped mentally for sure. Did it in my last possible attempt that day. Soooo happy!

Sun 5th Apr 2015 - Joe's Valley
New Joe's Area 51 Resident Evil
V3 Snake Mouth - with Maria Jose Tamayo Boulder Classic
Awesome thin and slopey vertical climbing. Love the techy lines at Joe's!

Sun 5th Apr 2015 - Joe's Valley
New Joe's Pocket Rocket
V5 Blender - with Maria Jose Tamayo Boulder 3m Mega Classic
After working on Planet of the Apes and running out of power, decided to give Pocket Rocket a visit (unsuccessfully). Happily, I found this little gem on the back of the boulder. Scrunched up start leads to powerful moves right and left, into hard readjustments and powerful throw to a sloper, into a technical heel hook and thin (two finger quarter pad pocket) finish before the easy mantle. Probably my favorite sequence of the trip. Hardest V5 so far done at Joe's.

Sat 4th Apr 2015 - Joe's Valley
New Joe's The Closet Roll the Dice
V5 Roll the Dice - with Maria Jose Tamayo Boulder 5m Mega Classic
Probably the best slab I've done on a boulder. Technical, thin, slappy on the feet. Highball also. But, slab climbing at its best. 2nd shot.

Sat 4th Apr 2015 - Joe's Valley
New Joe's The Closet Pimpin' Jeans
V5 Reading Rainbow - with Maria Jose Tamayo Boulder 4m Very Good
Hard sit start. It bunches you up a bit if you're not short. Hard getting off the ground and sticking the first two crimps, and then it's a cruise. First V5 this trip

V4 Pimpin' Jeans - with Maria Jose Tamayo Boulder 3m Mega Classic
Last time I was here in November, I got denied on this climb because I was attempting it in boots. Climbed it easily this time in climbing shoes. Crimpy and slopey with a techy mantle. Awesome line! Maria got soooo close to sending too! Such a good social environment here, you will always find nice people in this boulder (and in Joe's in general)!

Fri 3rd Apr 2015 - Joe's Valley
New Joe's Self Service
V1 Whopper - with Maria Jose Tamayo Boulder Very Good
After flashing Self Service, I decided to check this line to the right. Hard start for V1 for sure. Not sure if the sit start is V1. Also, potential for a bad landing. Nevertheless, quite good.

Sun 8th Mar 2015 - Peña de Bernal
Rancho Chichi'Dho Ciencia Friccion La Feria
V2 Carritos Chocones - with Juan Boulder Classic
Thought this was V0 for the longest time because some chick told me that. Checked the guidebook and it turns out to be V2. Makes sense, far too techy and body-tensiony to be V0. Very nice, though! Tried it on my MBT's the first time and failed, obviously.

Tue 11th Nov 2014 - Red Rock
Calico Basin Kraft Mountain Gateway Canyon Mr. Moran and Adjacent
V4 El Adviento - with Maria Boulder Classic
This was the last climb of our 3 month long trip around the world that marked the end of an era where I lived abroad outside Mexico. The name denotes the fact that we were very little time away from coming home and the fact that Maria was about to send her first V5. Emotional for sure. I will always remember this trip- we even left the ol' slab of red rock with the name and grade of this boulder underneath that beautiful piece of aztec sandstone

Mon 10th Nov 2014 - Red Rock
Calico Basin Kraft Mountain Gateway Canyon Mr. Morangatang and Adjacent
V5 Campus Problem - with Maria (and Alex Megos as a passerby) Boulder Mega Classic
Really cool problem. Starts with a tension heel hook and throws to slopers until you stick a kneebar in. Then you traverse and throw a heel hook to perform this physical mantle. Did it several times to show Maria the beta for it, which was TOTALLY worth it, because, unbelievably, Maria owned this problem, her first V5!!! This happened the day after. Incredible jump in grades (3 in 3 months) for Maria- stoked!

Sun 9th Nov 2014 - Red Rock
Calico Basin Kraft Mountain Gateway Canyon The Pork Chop
V4 The Pork Chop - with Maria Boulder 6m Mega Classic
Ultra-scenic and photogenic, albeit as psychological a boulder as I've done! Could've flashed it, but kept freaking out at the reach for the other side of the triangle due to crumbly slopey feet and only two pads. After 4-5 goes, finally commited to the throw (which ended up being static) and topped it. Good for the head and the photos Very nice end of the day!

Sat 8th Nov 2014 - Red Rock
Calico Basin Kraft Mountain Gateway Canyon Mr. Moran and Adjacent
V7 Mr. Moran - with Maria and other spectators. Boulder Mega Classic
Whoa! Unbelievable! I was very iffy about this whole sending-a-V7-before-the-trip-was-over business! And in a day! I went through all the stages: excitement at first, then disbelief when I couldn't pull off the ground, then hope when I could do all the moves, then skepticism of whether I could string all the moves, then pure psyched-ness, then something else outside me took over and somehow pulled it out of the hat! Surprised by the speed and tried repeating it for two days and couldn't! Lucky!!

Thu 6th Nov 2014 - Red Rock
Calico Basin Kraft Mountain Kraft Boulders Beth Wald Boulder
V2 Potato Chips - with Maria Boulder 5m Mega Classic
First boulder problem at Red Rocks! Insanely hard for the grade (V4 I would say), but I guess this is an old school problem. You grab these tiny crimps, engage infinite core, and do these crazy two deadpoints to incut crimps. Eases off after the start and becomes incredibly enjoyable. Aztec sandstone is my favorite sandstone bar none!

Tue 4th Nov 2014 - Boulder
Eldorado Canyon State Park Eldorado Canyon South The Bastille The Wind Tower
V5 V5 - with Maria Boulder Mega Classic
First boulder in Boulder! Maria was feeling a bit under, but the cool temps of the canyon made for ideal conditions! The guidebook for bouldering in the front range leaves a bit to be desired, but we finally found this one problem at the base of Wind Tower (saw a few people getting their freak-out going in trad up high). This one's beta intensive for sure. Sequence was kind of essential, after which you get really high quality movement: stand, readjust, high heel, crimp, slap, stand, mantle

Sat 1st Nov 2014 - Joe's Valley
New Joe's Area 51 Marble Cake
V6 Fig Fart (Fart Fig) - with Maria, Morgan and Alex Boulder 5m Mega Classic
Fastest V6 ever! Probably on the low end of the grade. Sit start on slopey crimps to a big crimpy undercling move followed my a crimpy deadpoint and you're done! Felt like it was flashable, actually. Very happy to get this before leaving Joe's!

Sat 1st Nov 2014 - Joe's Valley
New Joe's Contact
V3 Bad Genes - with Maria, Morgan, Alex, and owners of a hostile but submissive dog. Boulder Mega Classic
Did this with hiking boots on. Skipped all of the bad crimps and did big moves to better holds instead. Hardest boulder ever done on boots for me... Maria was one easy move away from sending it with the hard (crimpy) beta, but slipped and got slingshot back

Fri 31st Oct 2014 - Joe's Valley
Right Fork No Additives
V2 V2 to the left - with Maria, Morgan, Alex and other owners of a couple 'dogs. Boulder Very Good
Very hard for V2... Had to skip the pocket and aim for the big slopers on the lip of the boulder. Too uncoordinated to ace that pocket

Thu 30th Oct 2014 - Joe's Valley
Right Fork Mansize Pimper's Paradise
V5 Pimper's Paradise - with Maria, Morgan and Alex Boulder Mega Classic
OMG, what a rock! So we had no idea about the climbs at Joe's, because nobody was selling the guidebook, not even at the food ranch (local market and eatery). So at the fork, we see this CO license plated car, and we ask if they are bouldering, and it turned out not only that they were, but had a guidebook, so we tagged along and met really cool buddies First place these guys took us to was Pimper's Paradise, which I should've flashed but couldn't aim right. Maria was really close XO

Tue 28th Oct 2014 - Yosemite National Park
Yosemite Valley Sentinel Rock Area B-1 Boulder
V5 Unnamed 2 - with Maria and Miguel Boulder Mega Classic
An incredibly fun and uncharacteristically gymnastic boulder problem. Three finger pocket campus to the biggest jug in Yosemite, after which comes a mantle to a techy slab. Got on the send train after sending Sentinel Traverse, and was just having fun! First Yosemite V5

V6 Sentinel Traverse - with Maria and Miguel Boulder Mega Classic
An absolute king line, it only lacks a top out. Took me three days of trying- the moves came very quickly, but the link seemed impossible for me and thought it wasn't gonna go. Hardest moves are right at the start, slopey deadpoints on an overhang, followed by resistence climbing finishing with a V3/4ish boulder problem. Even though this is probably my hardest boulder ever, Human Energy took me longer, and the send was very unexpected. Didn't even get pumped. Sent a Yosemite V6- bring on V7!

Tue 28th Oct 2014 - Yosemite National Park
Yosemite Valley Curry Village Kevin's Traverse Boulder
V3 Unnamed 2 - with Maria and Miguel Boulder Mega Classic
An incredible endurance line that leaves you panting for a while! The start of a really really good day.

Thu 23rd Oct 2014 - Yosemite National Park
Yosemite Valley Sentinel Rock Area Small Boulder behind B-1 Boulder
V3 Unnamed 2 - with Maria Boulder Good
Height dependent. Because I really had to reach for the crimp, that added a lot of difficulty! Sharpish.

Wed 22nd Oct 2014 - Yosemite National Park
Yosemite Valley Curry Village The Zorro Boulder
V4 Zorro - with Maria Boulder Mega Classic
Incredible mega classic line. Tension start with a few lockoff moves leads into grabbing a good flake and crimping with the other hand to throw a huge move to a jug. All day I tried doing this move static by doing the forearm equivalent of a kneescum (ouch), until these other guys showed me how, and then it was a straightforward affair. Most exhilirating move in Yosemite this trip! Stout for the grade, as usual

Wed 22nd Oct 2014 - Yosemite National Park
Yosemite Valley Curry Village Kevin's Traverse Boulder
V3 Unnamed 1 - with Maria Boulder Classic
Thought initially you couldn't use the chockstone. Turns out you can. Done.

Tue 21st Oct 2014 - Yosemite National Park
Yosemite Valley Housekeeping area The Housekeeping Boulder
V2 Housekeeping Face (Unnamed 5) - with Maria, Jolie and Teddy Boulder Mega Classic
Incredibly sandbagged but so good! Cranking on overhanging edges at its best. Scary to go this high up in a boulder at the top out! Lesson learned: always consider matching hands if not sure about a big crank.

V3 The Big Moe - with Maria, Jolie and Teddy Boulder Mega Classic
So they told me this was V4- whatever! Incredible vertical cranking on crimps with almost imaginary feet, leading into a big move to a crimp and then a sloper into a stretchy mantle. Incredible way to end our first day in Yosemite. Also, we ran across these guys that we had also come across in Rocklands, South Africa! Found them in Camp 4 that day, almost didn't believe it! We didn't even know they would be there! Crazy stuff!

Tue 21st Oct 2014 - Yosemite National Park
Yosemite Valley Camp 4 Titanic Boulder
V3 Unnamed - with Maria Boulder Classic
Grunty and cut-loosey. Hard for V3. Try not to dab your foot on the tree behind you!

Sun 28th Sep 2014 - Rocklands
Agterpakhuis De Pakhuys Dihedral Boulders K: The Castle
6A+ La ultima y nos vamos - with Maria Boulder Very Good
Suggested grade of 6A+/V3. Start as per Egomaniac but go right on good slopers with a big right move and a slopey/reachy topout. My very fist first ascent, and the last climb we did in Rocklands. I will miss this very special place with overwhelming beauty that squeezes the power out of you! Hasta la proxima!

Sun 28th Sep 2014 - Rocklands
Agterpakhuis De Pakhuys Close Plateau C: Poison Dwarf
6C Girl Interrupted - with Maria and Colombians Boulder Mega Classic
6C/V5. Replaces GoOm´s headwall with a huge outstretched move to a good crimp. The obvious more spectacular variation on an already spectacular problem. This one feels like the ending of a route at Coolum because of the pump!

6C 6B+ Coal Chamber (Coal chamber sit start) - with Maria and the SA´cans Boulder Mega Classic
6C/V5. A very hard start followed by cool long moves to crimps and a victory jug. Awesome that this problem always stays in good conditions. 2nd go!

Sat 27th Sep 2014 - Rocklands
Agterpakhuis De Pakhuys Arch Valley The Arch
7A 6A+ One With the Freaks - with Maria and Colombians and Spanish Boulder Mega Classic
7A/V6. OMG! Another one-day send of a 7A! Had tried it on another day, but the beta I had involved locking off on a tiny 2 finger crimp, which I could just about do, but would pump out two moves later. John suggested I use a tensiony sloper I hadn´t found and that was the key! 3 attempts later, I was on the top! Amazing, fun day of bouldering with cool people XD

6C 6A+ Guillotine - with Maria and Colombians and Spanish Boulder Mega Classic
6C/V5. So you got this overhanging Santa box you wrestle with for the sit start, stand up as much as you can, and let your right hand fly to the hole (by hole I mean it´s a friggin window to the sky), which bites you if you don´t get it right! Simply amazing.

Sat 27th Sep 2014 - Rocklands
Agterpakhuis De Pakhuys Far Plateau B: Minki
6B Pre-teen Bikini - with Maria Boulder Mega Classic
6B/V3.3. Excellent 3 move problem. Amazing sequence and strength sensation. Dynamic and static at the same time. Technical, yet powerful. My favorite 6B that I did this trip? I think so!

Fri 26th Sep 2014 - Rocklands
Agterpakhuis De Pakhuys Close Plateau C: Poison Dwarf
6C New Addition - with Maria Boulder Mega Classic
6C/V5. Very hard indeed. Tensiony start followed my a big move to a crimp, then small tensiony crimpy moves, concluding with a pumpy powerful finish. Only just!

Wed 24th Sep 2014 - Rocklands
Agterpakhuis De Pakhuys Arch Valley The Arch
6C Sex Etiquette - with Maria Boulder Mega Classic
6C/V5. This boulder is really a must-do. Flying into a good crimp, locking it in, then throwing for a high jug! As fun as bouldering EVER gets. Psychological enough to make it exciting, yet very safe to fall on XD 2nd try.

7A 6C+/7A Esoterrorist - with Maria Boulder Mega Classic
7A/V6. In a day! This problem adjusted to my strengths exactly. The first balancy body tension moves were not too bad, and I knew that if I skipped the crappy left hand and dynoed well enough to the final sloper, I could stick it. Did it just in time! Was about to give up because of skin conditions. So psyched!!!

Sun 21st Sep 2014 - Rocklands
Agterpakhuis De Pakhuys Fields of Joy Q: Barracuda Rail
6B Sensual Kitten - with Maria, Derek and Katie Boulder Mega Classic
6B/V3.3. Awesome long moves on crimps and slopers on this exposed arete in the shade. Powerful stuff!

Sat 20th Sep 2014 - Rocklands
Agterpakhuis De Pakhuys Hidden Boulders B: Human Energy
7A 7A+ Human Energy - with Maria Boulder Mega Classic
7A/V6. First 7A in Rocklands! A 17-move monster! This compression boulder feels so exciting from start to finish, in an "in crescendo" fashion, with the hardest and longest move at the end- a cutloose rodeo move. When I first saw the problem, I tried a powerful beta which didn´t work, then saw some people do it, which made me dismiss Creeper (easier 7A but less attractive) and dedicated 3 days on this. Was inspired finally by Maria´s ascent of her first 6B+/V4! Got instantly psyched, dug deep XD

Mon 15th Sep 2014 - Rocklands
Lower Pakhuis Campground N: Teapot
6B+ Teapot Traverse - with Maria Boulder Classic
6B+/V4. Pumpy problem! Traverses halfway round the teapot boulder. Can link up with Up the spout for a 6C, which is what I initially tried but pumped out, which is why I missed the flash. That and the fact that I had been trying Teapot which I couldn´t figure out how to start!

Mon 15th Sep 2014 - Rocklands
Lower Pakhuis Campground G: Give Me a Break
6B+ Pull My Finger - with Maria Boulder Mega Classic
Had bad skin and didn´t nail the sequence right (sneaky left toe hook), otherwise I think I could´ve flashed it. Powerful moves on slopers with slippery feet. Loved it!

Sun 14th Sep 2014 - Rocklands
Agterpakhuis De Pakhuys Far Plateau A: Black Velvet
6A 6B in the Rain - with Maria Boulder Mega Classic
6A/V2. Tricky rail that keeps tension high at all times. Hard to flash for some reason! Definitely at least 6B in the rain!

Thu 11th Sep 2014 - Rocklands
Agterpakhuis De Pakhuys Hidden Boulders C: Welcome to the Game
5C Welcome to the Game - with Maria Boulder
5C/V1.5. Extremely hard for the grade, I think it should be 6A+/V3. One move monster, sit start on a medium rail with bad feet and stretched legs. Powerful!

Tue 9th Sep 2014 - Rocklands
The Pass Roadcrew V: Demi Lune
6C Demi Lune - with Maria Boulder Mega Classic
6C/V5. Pretty hard! Sit start into a mini half moon feature that overhangs on tiny crimps and finishes with slopey pinches, I needed to push hard for this one! Psyched!

Mon 8th Sep 2014 - Rocklands
Agterpakhuis De Pakhuys Middle Plateau C: Consequence Boulder
6B Dirty Hippie - with Maria Boulder Mega Classic
6B/V3.3. I told Maria I would flash this cool campus problem with my boots on. I blame the boots for not getting the flash, not the fact that I couldn´t do the campus right away...

6B+ 6B/B+ Boerewors - with Maria Boulder Mega Classic
6B+/V4. Awesome traverse followed by a HUGE deadpoint to an edge. Awesome explosive feeling. First day bouldering at Rocklands could not be better!

Mon 8th Sep 2014 - Rocklands
Agterpakhuis De Pakhuys Close Plateau D: Warm Up
6A Desert Rose - with Maria Boulder Mega Classic
6A/V2. A really cool crimpy variation to IIB. A bit scary locking off on your right arm to slowly go for the last juggy pinch!

Mon 8th Sep 2014 - Rocklands
Agterpakhuis De Pakhuys Close Plateau C: Poison Dwarf
6B+ 6B+/C Girl on Our Mind - with Maria Boulder Mega Classic
"Best 6B+/V4 in Rocklands". Juggy, tensiony moves on a roof followed by the tickytacky moves on the headwall. An excellent first impression of Rocklands- not that other problems would not have impressed me equally well! Maria got so close to sending this! One more day, and for sure she would have!

Tue 12th Aug 2014 - Arapiles
Tiger Wall Area Tiger Wall Boulders Crankshaft Boulder
V4 Crankshaft - with Maria and Igor Boulder 1m Mega Classic
Best V4 I've ever done! Amazing feature, amazing moves. Oh, Arapiles, I will miss you!

Wed 6th Aug 2014 - Kura Tāwhiti / Castle Hill Basin
Spittle Hill DSH03 Map 11: Nasal Slip Area
V3 No.45 - with Maria Boulder Classic
OK, talking about the one tucked between two boulders (can't remember what map on which number), you jump to the starting slopers, smear up and then big moves between big holds. Pretty awesome!

V3 Pepsin(ss) - with Maria Boulder Very Good
Not actually a log for Pepsin. Talking about no 54 in map 11. Sharp! :S

V5 No.23 - with Maria Boulder Classic
Talking about no 39 on map 17, HUGE right hand move to fragile mantle. Pretty classic, happy to get my first two Castle Hill V5's in one day!

V5 The Letter Box - with Maria Boulder Mega Classic
Changed beta from going to the far left hand pocs to the one just above, made it lots easier! First Castle Hill V5!

V3 NO.63 - with Maria Boulder Very Good
Talking about no. 51 on map 11. Chossy and scary, probably the least good boulder we tried :S

Tue 5th Aug 2014 - Kura Tāwhiti / Castle Hill Basin

V4 V4 mantle on finger of fate boulder (No. 11) - with Maria Boulder 2m Very Good
First properly awkward Castle Hill mantle. My right gluteal kinda hurt afterwards from so much pressing down with the heel!

Mon 4th Aug 2014 - Kura Tāwhiti / Castle Hill Basin
Spittle Hill Map 3 Beautiful Edges
V3 Bong-Eye - with Maria and Nick Boulder Mega Classic
I´m talking about the one that looks like Atari where you slap on either side up, the stand start (sit start´s V6). Took my first biggish fall bouldering here! Pretty fun V3!

Wed 19th Mar 2014 - White Rock Conservation Area
The Underground
V4 Trans-Siberian - with Jason, Lachlan, Tarryn and Chelsea Boulder 4m Mega Classic
Excellent line, power crux sequence followed by endurance climbing + mantle. Happy for the send!

Sat 8th Feb 2014 - Cedar Creek
Titanic Area Titanic Boulder
V3 Prow eliminate - with Maria Boulder 3m Very Good
Did it right after flashing Titanic Prow, did it first go but I guess I can't count it as a flash... Did try Midship Man a few times, feels like it's possible? We'll see!

Sat 8th Feb 2014 - Cedar Creek
Titanic Area Slopey Boulder
V4 Slopey Goodness - with Maria Boulder 2m Classic
Obviousness would have you think that the horrendous frictionless sloper is the thing you go for with the left, but it's just not the case! I did it matching hands in the right edge then big move to the jug. Glorious!

Sat 8th Feb 2014 - Cedar Creek
Above the Waterfall Graffiti Cave
V2 Left side - with Maria Boulder 2m Very Good
Tricky sit start, or at least I think so. Need to get better at those. Otherwise, pretty straightforward

Sat 8th Feb 2014 - Cedar Creek
Below the Waterfall Chunky boulder
V4 Full linkup - with Maria Boulder 4m Very Good
Took me quite a few goes! Poweful move to start with, with few feet after that- need to get used to that in granite, apparently- then crossover move leading to a big swing and mantle- nice problem!

Sat 8th Feb 2014 - Cedar Creek
Below the Waterfall Boulder 3
V3 L to R traverse - with Maria Boulder 4m Very Good
2 shots, slopey but really nice! Wanted to do the V5, but it seemed hard at the time... Maybe next time?

Sat 1st Feb 2014 - Toohey Forest
Main area Unleash the Dancer Boulder
V3 Smoke and Mirrors (3 Smoke and Mirrors) - with Maria Boulder 2m Classic
Read the description now and discovered I did it a harder way- more fun IMO though! Great little problem, getting into bouldering now

Showing 1 - 100 out of 114 ascents.
