Ascents as Send, Red point, Tick, First ascent or Repeat as boulder by Justin Case

OMG! 8 sessions to get it. Got the moves since 1st session and 2-linked it on the 2nd. Every single move (of the 10 moves before the slab) is hard. Hardest boulder I've ever done! Felt sad, almost. Full value V7 for sure. So psyched!

OMG! First V8! A critical piece broke off some time back, making the kneebar-to-heel-hook beta very unlikely. So, I made up my own beta. Big move to feet-first climbing to a hard turn-around glory! Big moment for me, first time I progress a grade since shortly before I got injured. Motivating!

Possibly one of the finest of the grade. Stout, reachy, delicate and commiting. So good!

Didn't flash on fear on being impaled by the boulder behind me

Found a better beta than 3 years ago, and suddenly it felt a lot easier. Stoked!

Classic and photogenic jug haul. Very fun indeed!

Very painful sharp pockets. Couldn't flash it cause pain.

Super nice techy climb with an awkward top-out. Maria's first Rocklands 6C/V5!

Hard move to start and not dab- once you stick it, it's flowy moves for the rest!

Long pumpy traverse with a big move in the middle, finishes with vertical climbing. Very good.

I did the LHV of this route (as far as I can tell, one can go left and finish up in the hole or go up and right), so that feels more like 6C+. Very nice, strengthy and techy. Will have to come back for the 7A version

Stout. Super nice crimpy edges take you up and left. One of the best boulders at this grade I've done!

One long move, the rest is fun jug hauling on a mild overhang. Fun!

Maria's anti-style and last send of the trip. Super nice and sharp sloping rail on a natural wind tunnel. Strengthy.

Excellent boulder. Not sure about the exact date. Harder topout than expected! Can't wait to go back to Joe's!

One hard heel hook move, then balancy and thin in the feet. Very enjoyable!

So stoked to be back here! After a long absence on outdoor bouldering, it doesn't get better than this. Also the fastest V7 I've done yet! Had an enjoyable, albeit baking hot, day with Maria, Matt and Dana. Matt made it look super easy XD

Really good arete climbing, but don't think it's V7- more like hard V5 or V6 tops. Did it in cold conditions- great movement, but always in the shade

While Maria sent her first V6 (Fig Fart)!!!!!! SO PSYCHED!!! She found very smart beta for it and sent quickly after. Only 3 sessions! WOW!

OMG!!!! First V7 in CO! And quite possibly the second best boulder I've ever done (Human Energy)! Outstanding moves on amazing rock and the best possible scenery as one tops out- Lake Haiyaha! Woo-Hoo-ed out loud as I topped out! Two days for this guy. On my first attempt today, I fell really awkwardly and experienced extremely sharp pain in my ankle... I hope it's OK! In any case, PSYCHED for the first big send of the season!

Usually I let this one right at the end of my sessions- today was no exception! Will attribute the send to the fact that I started campussing for the first time in over a year- HUGE move to a crimp, then keep the core tension high to match- that's it! Finally got it after Jake did his crazy beta to send it which didn't work for me

Worked it last saturday and got really close, but couldn't send because I got tired from repetitive trying. Sent it second go this time! Awesome line- one of the harder V6's that I've done and with intricate beta. Was super stoked that Max also managed to send at the end of the day despite being super worked from all the climbing that went down!

Hardest V5 ever! Every move is hard, and the top is psychological AND hard! Had been a while since a V5 took me more than a day! Very satisfying to complete!

Two days for this one- pumped out the first! Crux is avoiding the dab and not pumping out at the end. Starts with a few good compression moves on slopers and crimps, then moves on to a very pumpy campusy traverse with a pumpy and psychological finish. Not stellar, but satisfied I could at least do this in a high gravity day!

Did the V6 sit start variation. First V6 in Colorado! Truly amazing place. I can honestly say that this is probably the most beautiful bouldering area I have been to. The granite is unique- very featured and perfect texture. Beautiful summer day out catching up with Morgan and Alex, walked out in the rain (with a gorgeous rainbow to boot), as is traditional in the area. Looking forward to many more, hopefully soon. Perfect end of a busy week. Fingers crossed!

Mega classic. Sit start on big sloping rail, traverse right on crimps using slopey heel hooks, and then do three big moves that require some body tension. The end part is no gimmie, pumps you and can spit you even if you have the end jug. First time I fall after doing the redpoint crux, felt weird for sure, totally uncharacteristic. Managed to send, though!

Classic at the grade for sure. Bit of an easy traverse, into a crimper sequence to a big move to a good crimp. Psychological but fun! Two shots.

Done! Second day on, got flash pumped for the first time in my life, did not know what that felt like! After my first two tries, the pump did not subside in like an hour- ridiculous! Anyway, glad I got it done

Sit start on two crimpers with a bad slopey right foot, 4 moves on a 60-70 degree overhang. Short and low but good. Gotta engage the crimps!

Was spraying beta to Maria and Juan, then when I got on it for the flash attempt it spit me and my beta out HARD. Tried a high foot beta and went without a hiccup. Very nice line.

Significantly harder than the other V5's around here, more beautiful as well. Powerful, precise, heady and all-around awesome. Felt like a great ending to a great day

Excellent line of crimps. A must-do in the area for sure. Has it all within the style. Needless to say, Maria loved it

Aw, YISS!!! Tried it for 3 days over 2 months or so. Crimpy and remarkably trickery-free, kinda pure that way. Fell at the top a few times, including one where I fell right on the tree, scraping my leg kinda badly but my pants were strangely not torn. Top is not hard, you just can't see what you're doing. Fourth V7! I think I'll start trying Fusion (V8) now.

This was probably my best line of the trip- only 5 hard and technical moves- crossover to a crimp, slapping the face, slapping the rail, grabbing the bad pinch, and launching for the dyno. Powerful, yet very technical. I even did it with a day of climbing to spare. When I stuck the dyno, even though I didn't know what to do next, I just held on and blood blistered my hands. So worth it. So good. Bring on "Tendon de Aquiles" in Bernal!

OMG, hadn't been as psyched to work a boulder since Human Energy... Such an incredible line! Powerfest for sure. First V7 since Mr. Moran back in November. Compression, slopers, crimps, power, and a strong mantle. Went from not being able to do the moves to sending using a sloper at the top nobody uses. The fact that people kept coming to this boulder (padding the f*ck out of it) relentlessly sending the line helped mentally for sure. Did it in my last possible attempt that day. Soooo happy!

After working on Planet of the Apes and running out of power, decided to give Pocket Rocket a visit (unsuccessfully). Happily, I found this little gem on the back of the boulder. Scrunched up start leads to powerful moves right and left, into hard readjustments and powerful throw to a sloper, into a technical heel hook and thin (two finger quarter pad pocket) finish before the easy mantle. Probably my favorite sequence of the trip. Hardest V5 so far done at Joe's.

Probably the best slab I've done on a boulder. Technical, thin, slappy on the feet. Highball also. But, slab climbing at its best. 2nd shot.

Hard sit start. It bunches you up a bit if you're not short. Hard getting off the ground and sticking the first two crimps, and then it's a cruise. First V5 this trip

Last time I was here in November, I got denied on this climb because I was attempting it in boots. Climbed it easily this time in climbing shoes. Crimpy and slopey with a techy mantle. Awesome line! Maria got soooo close to sending too! Such a good social environment here, you will always find nice people in this boulder (and in Joe's in general)!

After flashing Self Service, I decided to check this line to the right. Hard start for V1 for sure. Not sure if the sit start is V1. Also, potential for a bad landing. Nevertheless, quite good.

Thought this was V0 for the longest time because some chick told me that. Checked the guidebook and it turns out to be V2. Makes sense, far too techy and body-tensiony to be V0. Very nice, though! Tried it on my MBT's the first time and failed, obviously.
