Ascents as Hang dog by Jef Van Alsenoy

I was acting all cry baby on the slab saddle, half joking though. Lost my balance if I remember correctly. Cool upper part. Magnificent sunset.

First tries with the ohm were horrifying. The ohm failed miserably to work given the roof and the placements of the bolts. Good lesson, horrible panicky feeling not getting rope in a tight situation getting out from under the roof. Repeated without the ohm, but still had to work the middle move getting into the crack a couple of times. Happy with my ability to read the route well and execute accordingly. Good adventure. Good times. But scary as hell the first goes. Remeber to not use the ohm in these circumstances!

Planning to do some after work TRS I got picked up by a old schooler. He took me ballin' at Claudio and sent me up. What an awesome and laidback guy, Jean-Louis! I took a small fall on The Wall by grace of losing my balance, but hey, nice route anyway. Cool to see him cruise up afterwards, having a chat with another Stone Hero called Jef, who lives in the forest nearby.

Last ascent of the day, by dusk. What a prime of a route! Such beautiful rock that forces you into exposure, really impressive, all the good holds are there but you have to venture really out of the conventional positions to use them. Made some mistakes reading one part of the middle section, hence the fall(s) but apart from that it was a fun and focused climb!

I wasn't sure the single glue in was the anchor, so decided to waltz my way up the roof to the obvious anchor, with sling and all (that turned out to also be a single bolt anchor). Very doable but took me some guts to work through the overhang, not exactly my forte. Pulled my way up to the final bolt using gear, some Germans who were working badass material a couple lines down the rock looked at me with anguish and disapproval. The Germans are badass boys.

I got completely pumped working my way to and throught the first bolt. So strange. Didn't mind too much because I'd decided in advance to use the route for fall training. Took some 1 bolt distance falls to get my head in the game.

What an amazing ascent by Shana, she dropped out twice but only for a lack of balance somewhere, but basically she cruised through in a super elegant and technical fashion, whereas I struggled and fought my way through. The small pockets proved to be a big challenge for me, as where the lack of good feet. Very hard work near the end. Must've fallen about 10-15 times...

I think I fell on the crux. After that, there a balsy section where the next bolt if left and up, you risk a big swing, I took a long time before I took the shot and climbed it.

The route starts traversing over a mounting ledge, shortening the good fall potential.. I misread and fell and stopped right above the bushes. Whoops.

Beautiful and delicate first pitch, gracefully lead by Pieter. I had a very unexpected foot slip at the first anchor, but apart from a nuisance and a spoiled flash no biggie. The second pith boils down to one serious 6c move and some intense laybacking for the remaining bolts. With some beta from below I managed to find conistent beta through the crux. It's one to take home another day!

One fall early in the second pitch, not really expected and a bit of a shy manoeuvre... Second pitch should be rated 6b-ish. Pieter put up a fight and pulled on the very last draw in a stressy moment, but apart from that great work!

We installed the top rope to fool around. This is a very viable candidate to RP7a, some powerful gaston and push-and-pulling but short, clear and doable. Want to lead it next time and see how the more powerful moves feel in lead.

Made a mistake on my redpoint attempt, oh well.

Have I just found my new facourite spot? I think so... PROJECT!! All three of them.

Beatiful and bolted quite ballsy. I was jumping into it again after a break and didn't feel like pushing, so took a break at the end of the column crack line. It felt good to be independent of onsight-gradeivism. Not every climb is about "cashing"... remember this!

Haven't had my forearms so acidified in a long time. Although Pé showed us force is not all too vital for a succesfull attempt, the lesser climber like me will blow his muscles to piece going through the overhang. A hard crux, not too hard though, and then some well-jugged, just too steep terrain. A stellar excercise in conservative climbing. Great fun, good falls.

What a fight to get up. All the holds are good, all of them, but the line is so steep. Very accesible to try 7b for the first, grateful I could have a go.

Looks like pumpy pull stuff, but the Spanish master taught us well: it's all in the feet

The cruxiest crux I ever cruxed.

Ah, one tiptoey crux. I fucked it up. Meh

This was one of those climbs that wrecks absolute havoc. I must have taken 5 whippers, big ones, I was scared, pumped, tired, it got dark, I hated it, I didn't want to give up... Man, what a brutal thing. Left mental scars as well.

First time went easy, a bad foot switch killed the flash. Second time it felt way harder, and a footslip killed the redpoint.

I was laughing at Oscar's frustration when he came down and said 'Tenía la R en mi puta cara cuando me caí'. Shouldn't have - the same thing happened to me.

Amazing route! One of my new favourites. Very balsy ending in lead...

Second attempt after a year, went throught the crux with a fight, then climbed the wrong ay because the route trajectory was unclear. What a shame. Will get this m***r soon enough.

Took one hang after trying the crux a first time.

Tried hard the lat day, but didn't manage to get it redpointed. The crux for me is the traverse, coming out of the rest on the far most left side, not the hard penultimate clip (was the crux for Pieter and Chris). Somehow I lose my technique there, I feel like I forget the feet and can only remember the sequence after a fall or take. I really wanted this one! Nice route.

Hard, bouldery, start but after that just 5 material, DEFINITELY NOT 7c.

It was dark, had to clean up after Pieter. Delicate climbing, pulled up and went for a foothold but was unable to see it with the shadows from the headlamp. Apart from that very cool. Also a huge boulder fell down in the dark, next to us, must've been the size of a barrel.

So nice! Beautiful and doable crack climbing, I just got a bit scared and didn't climb creative enough. Very doable, coming back for this one!

Oh man, what a burn. Exiting, scary, hard and sustained climbing. Wrecked my body and destroyed my mind. Not to mention the forearms.

Was broken from Al Andalus. Wanted to cry and go home. Absolute beauty of a route though. Later that day a Spanish guy went flying because a hold broke off.
