Ascents of Whymper as Tick

Exit route, always a classic

Super cool climb but i was cold scared and coming off a 1 week illness so had a bit of a rough time. doing this in warm weather while in form is probably a grand time.

Yay! Crimp fest! Such a fun line. I struggled on the very first section with the backpack on and ended up hauling it the first meters. It was fine for the rest. I missed a carrot here and there, they can be hard to spot.

Very fun climb! The on and off rain and first time on carrots added a bit of spice to the climb.

Not too shabby. Clipped the U bolt on the 4th pitch with a sling and had immense rope drag. Followed by enjoying a nice red wine pasta with the gang on the belay ledge. Cheers for the bday sends.

First multi with the misses without help

I started this climb with my finger tips already red and raw and tired from the day prior but ready to tick off another climb on the list. We had many things go wrong and one of then forgetting the bolt plates. Some kind people leant us theirs and we were off. The first pitch I fell off the very first move while seconding.. not fun. Body already feeling absolutely destroyed but kept going. The 'money pitch' was fun but not as good as I was expecting. Lead the fourth pitch and there was a roof section, took me a while to figure out and once I did this I was super happy. Kept climbing and messed up a sequence resulting in getting pumped and whipping. With my finger tips bleeding and raw I pushed through and got to the top. This was the worst condition my fingers had been in and the rock was very rough, after this I decided no more sport and back to crack climbing to rest my fingers. Overall it was a fun day out and would do again.

Clean repeat with a friend. Did not feel as spicy anymore. Watched 2 climbers simul climb Sweet Dreams. Want to do that so badly! Anyone?

Beautiful route. Led the first pitch (had to aid overhead first lip). Seconded pitch 2 and 3 clean (!) but pitch 4 smacked me. Onsighted pitch 5 - first time leading with carots! Amazing views, loved the exposure.

Best sport multi ive done at bluies id say. Really interesting climbing. Captures the best terrain and position on the arete and consistently around the grade. A spot more serious than weld and the other ones at that grade due to needing to use plates, slightly runout in spots by modern standards and consequently precise route finding can take some patience on the chalksight, but it really should be on everyones list. Rach and i both aided the first move of the climb lol. Fried rice lunch in p2 belay cave. Had to dump the contents of my leaky water bladder. At least i got to enjoy p3 with a lighter bag. And p4 is absolute class aswell. No one enjoyed the views more than rachs phone which now has a camera roll full of panos.

An easy entry to multi for the grade

First multi ever, definitely a solid intro. Was scared to start and tense throughout but all lead pitches done clean including the "exposed money pitch" which I'm stoked about!

Just an impromptu trip up wymper to celebrate finishing my thesis .

Forgot how scared I can get but felt so phenomenal climbing in such an exposed place again.

Started at 3, got to the top bang on sunset at 5. Had some rain which made me take a nice 8m fall as I rushed pulling onto the linked pitch'es soppy belay ledge. Super fun!
