Ascents in West of the access track as trad by Scott Godwin

The onsight attempt that I'd been putting off for ages. Felt pretty good all the way up to the crux steepness. Rested for ages in the nice jams then tried to climb through but couldn't make the fingerlock stick and fell. Got it relatively easily after a rest on the rope. Bummed to blow the onsight but happy that I finally got on this. Probably the best route I've done at Frog.

Good fun but a bit dirty. Didn't really feel any harder than Sacrilege Crack to me. Got my elbow stuck near the top. I was glad that Cam convinced me to take two # 6s.

Felt much better than last time. Shoulder is still pretty flakey but feels like its getting stronger. Just have to avoid making it worse now.

A couple of laps to see how the shoulder would cope. Not too bad. Have to be very careful not to pull hard on thumbs down jams though. Might be stuck at the lower grades for a bit longer.

Fell off the lower crux on the second try. Was feeling pretty tired and was getting a bit sketched out trying to clip the gear in a couple of spots.

I think that maybe trying this once every six months is not a good strategy. . . Forgot how it worked on the first attempt this morning and had to rest at both cruxy bits.

Fantastic climbing. I can't really claim the onsight because I had Phil feeding me beta the whole time. Still awesome anyway. Well protected with one #4, one #5 and one #6.

Finally psyched myself up to get back onto this nearly two years after the first attempt. Fell out of the fingerlocks at the start of the steep bit, but it will go next time.

With Laura. Just for the sake of doing one more at the end of the day. The wide bit still seemed awkward.

Seconding Graham. Went up so that we could rap down MMT to get some gear back. Turned into a bit of an adventure.

Blew this one again. That bottom section is tricky.

With Laura. A great way to finish Drop out. Gear belay then you can rap off the disconcertingly small but bomber tree at the top of NP.

With Laura. Great climbing. The last few metres of choss are unpleasant, but you'll soon forget about it if you do the awesome direct finish.

Ran out of big cams in the wide section and bailed Then proceeded to have an epic time traversing across the cliff top of death from the top of smoked banana so I could rap down to get the gear back. Pulled off a gigantic block into my lap and barely managed to avoid getting dragged down with it. Fun times! The route is good though, at least the first two thirds of it. . . . . .

A morning lap with Laura to see if I could remember how to climb at Frog. Felt ok, not as solid as I wanted to.

Seconding Tom. Had to sit to clean a very stubborn tricam, but all clean apart from that. Excellent, technical stemming. Lots of good stances and rests.

1st time back in about 6 months, no good. Felt retarded on the thin stuff at the bottom and sat on the gear. Climbed straight through the lower crux where I always used to fall, but couldn't remember how the top crux works and fell three times before I dragged my sorry arse up it.

Some people go to coolum when its raining. . . Or you can go aid climbing at frog. Two laps with Laura.

Still great. I think its the best easy climb at Frog. With Sam and Laura.

Not much to look at, but has some really nice moves on it.

Got my arse kicked. Literally. Placed a bomber nut above the ledge, then climbed most of the way through the crux, got very sketched out, couldn't find any gear, tried to downclimb, and fell. Hit the the ledge hard with my right ankle and left butt cheek and spent the rest of the day limping around unable to climb anything. I'm spewing because its a perfect cool, dry weekend, probably the last one for the year, and now I can't climb.

So freaking close! Climbed clean all the way to the last move before the jug, then in my pumped state fumbled a clip three times before I grabbed the draw at the last second to avoid the whipper. It'll go next time.
