Hit the final hold on the first shot, but not this time. Climbing soo crap today.

This was wet, which turned what should have been a pleasant warm up into a fight for survival. Also needs a regrade, perhaps 19/20?

Nice job on this Tom. I think this entire sector might need a re-grade though. 18/19 on this one.

Hey! My first bolted route. Still great fun, still a big spider calling it home. You can avoid him.

Monty placed a carrot at the start of this in the mid 90s. It's now a route. Through the orange and black roofs just right of Phil's 'Forsaken'. Was pleased to come away with the send on dusk given it was wet, and the final clipping jug came off in my hand.

Equipped and climbed after JJ. We should call this the Wall of Twenties.

Getting gear on, pulled a truck-battery sized block off the lip which just missed JJ.

8 years it waited for a second ascent. Very hard to grade something so short - three bodylengths of beyond horizontal roofing. Rocky gave it 27 with a fat question mark after 60 days (!!) of work. It must be more like 29. "About as silly as climbing gets." --JJ O'Brien [7]

This was a two bolt variant start to Nine Month Sojourn. Rebolted (with permission of FFA) to make it an independent climb which goes straight up. Much better.

FFA. Freed this old project of Gareth & Adam's (thanks guys!) A few bits of trad to get to the roof, drop rope, then use second rope to climb the rest (all bolts). We removed all sharp edges so it's ready to go. Climbing might be ~27, but it's pretty adventurous and I doubt it'll get repeated anytime soon - unfortunately! [4]

Sport climbing doesn't get much more adventurous than this. Solo 15m on broken rock to first bolt above the void. Fearfully edge out into space to mercifully clip a second bolt and feel like you might not die if you fall. Romp up sharp jug-horns, hoping beyond hope your rope doesn't get sliced as it weaves around them. Get your breath back by hanging upside down beneath the crux. Hump and pinch for all you're worth to breach the crux, clip the anchor; now consider how you'll clean the thing.

Slime and filth.

Start was a vomitorium. You're lucky if you get to climb this dry I think. Overall, a bit weird.

Hard work for photos. Lots of waiting for shade, legs going to sleep. Did crux 17 times in a row.

Had to get the gear off. Battle. Sore hands now.

Bolted by Craig Pohlman in 2006 -- huge effort Rocky, thanks. 6m ceiling, very similar to 'A Kneebar Too Far'. For the Coolum-philes, this kind of climbing where you're flipping your feet above your head and falling into kneebars is pretty classic. [3]

Sorted a bit of beta but it was pouring and I couldn't get out to the lip which was a waterfall.

First fall on this route today, ever. Seems everyone is skirting into Howler instead of climbing it direct. Naughty.

Made every mistake in the book.

Bit of a fitness lap, had to work pretty hard for it this time.

Always scary off the ledge. Then really good.

Worked out all the moves again but no time for a re-sendage burn.

Felt nice for a change.

Did the way everyone else must go at the fourth bolt i.e. right. It's nicer that way, thanks chalk people!
