Routes in New Zealand for selected grade

Belay anchors at the top and bottom were replaced with 110mm titanium glue-in bolts in March 2018. The anchor at the top of Pitch 1 was untouched.

1. (15, 20m) Climb the face past two bolts to the big ledge. The crux is at the second bolt.

2. (13, 20m) Up the slab past three more bolts to the top of the Pinnacle.

Climb onto the ledge and then up the golden streak on the right arete.

Climb the middle of the slab on good holds.

Step off the rock and pad up the slab to the right of the arete.

Start on the large flake. Climb the layback/crack feature. Beware of loose holds!

Climb the high zig zag feature.

Climb up the mossy face on some surprisingly nice ledges and jugs.

Climb the mossy arete, there are a few loose blocks, so be careful.

An easier but tricky start right of ‘Route 4’. Climb the right arête and join ‘Route 4’ at the third bolt.

Start in corner crack then head left over chossy ground to the top.

Start as of route 10 in corner crack, but continue straight up the crack to the top.

right most sport route on the main wall, details need to be updated.

The line of bolts heading up from the far left hand end of the walking track. Deceptive.

In the scoop to the right of the previous two routes. Try and avoid getting lured onto the harder route here (details not known). Starts up the scoop before heading left?

Shares a start with 'Re-election Blues', but continue up the scoop to chain.

Start just right of 'The Fearless Vampire Killers' and follow the bolts to the top of the cliff. Optional threads.

Shares a start with 'Gorgonzola Goes', but heads a bit further right.

On upper Tenuite. Anchor the belayer to the two low FH at the right end of the wall, then head up past the bolts slightly right of this.

On upper Tenuite. Access by climbing the first bolt of 'A Shout Towards Noon' then heading across the next ledge.

High first bolt, then up to chains. 3m left of 'Grey Warbler'. On Lower Tenuite

Yellowish crack left of the small roof. Use the roof for an added challenge. On Lower Tenuite

On the southern side of the fortress, the far right climb before the arete

Climb inside the chimney.

Ends on last two bolts of Dirty Old Men. This is the route name of Dolomite Dream in some guidebooks and is fully bolted.

Bolts every 1.5ish meters. Watch out with rusty maillon.

Run and jump, no hands. Marked holds only. FA done with approach shoes and a full rack of cams + nuts.

Sit start, straight up the front door section. Very easy, a favorite downclimb to reach the ground. Even Gerry Brownlee could climb this one.
