Ascents in Oceania as Red point by Cameron Semple

Nice route. Had to keep the feet working through the steep stuff.

Felt like I snuck up on this one today. After work session on a beautiful evening. Jumped straight on, went way better than expected, back home in time for dinner and tv on the couch. 👍

So stoked! Such a classic line and right on my current limit, making it a really satisfying send. Super pumped and nearly peeled off, but milked the rests so hard.

Remembering how to place gear!

Split it into two pitches so we could do some leading each. Such a good route.

Finally lead this. Mostly went ok. Great climb.

Great route. Much better when it’s dry and when you traverse to the anchors in the right spot.

Really good. Probably my favourite of the trio.

Climbed as two pitches. For the first pitch Rach lead Sideshow, then the steep little corner above before a small traverse into the bottom of the corner crack on Centaur. I finished as usual for Centaur. Nice variant with more of a focus on jambing than Centaur standard. Mostly dry.

Pretty spoogey after raining all night.

Alzheimers onsight. Happy with this for the first day of the trip.

Top half was wet! Bottom half is pure awesome! The block 2/3 of the way up the bottom half is loose, but don't think it will come out.

Stoked to get this! Proper fight right from the ground. Milking the rests for all they were worth. Quote of the day from the crowd of bushwalkers watching the whole thing: “He’s only 2 metres from the top, why doesn’t he just finish it”. Thanks for the patient belay Chris.

After work pipes session. Did it as two pitches this time so Shirley could lead the first half. Still feeling rusty, but good to be back up there.

Pissing down rain, but it never rains at Frog. So must have been a figment of my imagination. Paul forgot his shoes and helmet. So all in all there were a few signs telling us this wouldn’t be the day we’d hoped for.

Did in one pitch

Felt good to get back on this. Keeps you on your toes, but it went well. A couple of extra small cams would have come in handy. Belayed on a #4, #5 and #6.

Finally lead this. Went well.

Single rack of cams to #3 was enough. Counterweight rap we did around a "bulge" to get down was pretty sketchy.

Rock seemed mostly fine to me. Enjoyable route.

Not too much trouble with it this time. Still pretty awkward though.

Was about time I had another crack at this. All went fairly well this time. A bit of everything. Top slab tested the head.

First lead attempt, but had just seconded from the bulge to the top on Walking the Plank. Still had a pretty desperate moment trying to figure out the bulge mantle again. Excellent pro keeps it all happy though. Used all my hex's.

Lead the second for the first time. Also a great pitch. Ended up with huge rope drag though as a rope got wedged beside a cam. Weird.

Lead the first this time. Out of practise and spent ages faffing with gear. Great route.

Really good jamb route. Felt stiff for the grade, but I'm way out of practice. Heaps of bang for buck with the semi exposed start near the end of the ledge.

Finished it after Kym got most of the way up on her second ever trad lead. End is harder than the grade the way I did it. Maybe should have stuck left.

Pretty happy to get this today. Such an amazing climb and my first trad climb at the grade. If you’re going to have half a day at frog in two years, this was a good way to spend it.

Finally ticked this. Has been a nemesis for years.

Lead first pitch to get to Space Cowboy. Clean this time. Still didn't figure out a way through the bulge without just committing to a few steep crack moves, but the rest felt good. Super fun.

Lead both pitches this time. Second pitch is soooo good. Gotta be one of the best at the grade on the pipes?

Been a while between drinks on this one after a big gear popping fall on my last attempt a few years ago. Not sure what all the fuss was about now. Great climb. Even enjoyed the squeeze chimney.

Bit meh. Top bit wasn't as hard as I remembered. Plenty of good feet.

It was great when it was slimy, but even better dry. Lead the first pitch this time. Eventually found a much nicer sequence through the crux than last time.
