Ascensioni in West Cape Howe

This is definitely a 3 star route, such a great climbing....

Nice slaby start, awsome crag, a bit of chimney but quiet loose finnish.

Great introduction to the area. Make sure you plan a head, it can get quiet cold on this wall if you stop moving for a couple of hours..

Managed to do all the moves and only leave a small puddle of blood in the hold after the crux. Really good climbing, will grow some skin and be back for the lead soon.

Think this is the route up the wall right of Orion, with one carrot bolt level with its belay.

So awesome to do this climb again, but nothing beats asking my best friend to marry me on the top best day of my life

Lead the route twice in a row for a film crew filming some kind of outdoor adventure clip for the south west. super fun day

Amazing line! Some hard moves at the start of the arête. Will be wanting to send it this year.

This WCH trip was basically a mission to climb this magnificent route. Despite the fact that the grade is not that impressive, the exposure of this route makes it a difficult mental game for me, I have sweaty hands just remembering it. Definitely one of my proudest ascents ever, and also one of my hardest trad leads. I am sure I'll be back!

I think (not even sure) I top roped this back in 2012, but since I didn't remember anything, I am claiming the onsight. It was also my first proper lead at WCH, and it was even better than I expected, I absolutely loved it. Lot's of pro, and great nut placements. Take a lot of draws, cause you probably will be running out at the top otherwise!

I expected way more from this climb, but I think I just didn't find the route well, started on the wrong ledge (still not sure about this), traversed to the other route on the right, and then back to Carousel, climbed half way between them a lot of the time as well... The idea was going for the lead (since I had already top roped this in another trip, even at night!), but since I felt so lost this time, I also self belayed on the static as a back up cause I didn't find enough pro (clearly being off route). So it was basically a mild epic Next time I'll try to find the dignity I left at the bottom of that wall...

Not 100% sure what we did. I think we started from the Shitsky belay but climbed on Carousel. Can't claim an onsight, so red point will have to do.

A gentle start to calm the nerves.

Balancey face climbing before hugging and stemming a fridge like boulder. Second pitch was pretty straight forward.

Consistent first pitch gaining ledges, belay in the small ledge. The second pitch was the money pitch which had sections of splitter hand jams! =)

Classic, great climbing. Great moves, awesome setting. Bring big cams. I didn't have enough so slung some chockstones in the crack. Really satisfying climb!
