The ol Snake Hike. Big day out

The first two 5.4 pitches are seriously runout, however the last 5.4 has good gear if you step off to the right of the dike.

Moslty free, up the the 7a pitch, aid what we had to aid

12.5hrs car to car. Pretty glad we planned it this time and started at 530 instead of 9! 3 person party with audrey and ariel. Solid nav efforts from audrey kept me from running after the wrong approach trail cairns like a puppy. Ariel contributed with the surprise mini fireball bottle at the top right as the clouds consumed us. Nicer climbing than i expected and good spirits only started to diminish on the hell of a hike back afterwards. Mandatory snow but slides on the east side of the dome were checked off. I booked the last 5k of the hike so i could make dinner for 25min before the girls arrived. Little did i know they were only 3min behind me! Bit of a dog act making them wait for my pasta to boil

Ok, but not worth the hype.

For three little Aussies it was a terrifying, exhilarating, life-sucking, life-affirming mega moonwalk. Our accents must've scared away the crowds, for the serenity was simply serene. After an epic summit sunset we knew we'd earned those famous Half Dome beers

This thing is 670m! we though it was only 500m ahaha. Our grand idea to try IAD starting at 1am made really good pace to the traverse pitches and I bricked it on Pitch 14 made for a wild rappel! I was the weak link on this route next time we will smash it IAD PEW PEW.

What a great climb! You definitely need a level head at the grade due to the 30m+ runouts... it took us about 13 hours car to car, mainly due to some navigational difficulties at the bottom of the climb. The climbers trail is at 37.731439,-119.521549

Epic 20h single push.

Freeclimbed as much as possible, but fell twice on the Zig Zag pitches and aided the upper crux slab.

The new lasso beta works fine but I got a bit lost finding exactly where to lower-out.

Nice climbing however quite runout. The trad belays on the top pitches are not the best and on a 5.9 50m pitch I only got 2 pieces of descent pro. Be sure to be solid on your slab game before leading this one.

Fun and easy climbing, be careful with the long run outs and staying in route if you are not experienced in multipitch climbs.

Properly classic route. Good climbing up a fabulous dike feature... pretty runout but fun all the same!

Awesome climb! P1 & P3 quite interesting for those not used to slab, then some serious but easy runouts. Superb position, awesome views, great walking on the way out - a very big day, and something I'll always remember.

Awesome adventure. Day 1 to big sandy and topped out midday next day. Love the french-free speed tactics. Rope toss was a novel aid trick! Squeeze chimney was scary. As was seconding Thank God ledge. Love the tourist topout, only need to ration food and water for up to the summit

This was my first multipitch climbing, started at parking lot 3am in the morning, came back to parking lot 3am, hiking+climbing for 24 hours. The 2 hours driving following the megaday was killing me. This is the experience I will remember for my life.

Super long day! Really fun got a bit lost in the dark , nothing hard just slabby madness!

Somehow I had never done this!?! It's really really good. Well protected where it counts.

A seriously long day, but a stellar climb. O/S odd pitches. Clean 2nd even pitches. No real hard moves, but so many pitches of juggy-dike friction slabbing with (literally) 20m runouts. Simply tonnes of fun. 2.5hrs to get to the start. 2.5hrs to climb it and 3 hours to descend back to the car. Glad we got a really early start, as by the time we were halfway to the top there were 10 groups queued at the base.

We left Camp Curry at 04:30 with food and 3l of water. The hike in along the Mist Trail was easier than when I hiked it in April despite having more gear. I wore my base layers but had to strip them off by the time we reached the first bridge.

Our plan was for Aaron our guide to lead the pitches with Tim and I seconding.

The hike to the base of the climb took about four and a half hours. Once there we skipped the line and Aaron blasted up the first pitch soloing to the first belay.
