Routes in Tasmania for selected grade

Sit start with both hands and feet on the arete, lay back your way up to top corner of arete then trend left not using the top of the boulder until you pass the ‘disconnected’ bloc then top out to finish.

Straight up the easy slab

SDS start under the obvious feature, 1 hard pull to get to that feature and then up.

SDS at the left corner and head for the top right.

On the left end past the bulge.

On the Lyell side of the boulder there is 2 obvious rising traverse's. This one is done with hands in the middle break and going right round the arete to top out.

Straight up the highest part of the face.

This problem goes up the blank arete just left of all the green moss, left of the open corner feature.

Sit start under the obvious feature and squeeze or lay back your way to the top of it.

A nice easy warm up, going straight up the tallest part of the boulder, above the creek.

On the right end, slightly steep with a bit of a bulge.

Same Start and straight up.

RIght hand slab.

Crack to the R of corner. A good beginners climb with excellent natural pro.

Right of Soho Crack. The long cleft/gully which continues all the way to the top of the cliff. Useful for gaining climbs starting from the ledge.

Climbs the obvious gully, a real adventure, culminating in a wiggle through a hole to top out! DBB

Climb the easiest to access, slightly undervert crack, which widens to the top. Good hand/foot jamming, great gear.

Start: The first 'major line' at the very right end of the wall.

Anyone who has spent a day "on the brushes" at Sand River will understand the name... Line immediately left of the large tree. Neat climbing, excellent for the grade, on really good, clean rock. Up the short wall and continue up to left of crack.

Slab climbing to the right of Power over Mind. The bolts are spaced near the ground - not a first climb for a beginner leader.

Way of Senior Insurance Salesmen? This route provides access to the ledge from where the next three routes begin.

Short crack in LHS of gully.

Wide crack on front of buttress. Careful of flakes on right.

The smooth arching corner crack. Nice route for a beginner. Big gear not needed.

Up nose of the downhill buttress, being careful of loose flakes. Scramble to top and around back or carefully down-climb the side.

chimney climb the face

1m righ of undercling thing, climb wide crack to handcrack

Up the corner behind the left hand side of main face. Lots of large loose blocks and a small amount (3-4) good gear placements to rap chains

Starts as for Chancellor in the big right facing corner between Chancellor Direct and Carpe Diem.

1. 14m. Up Chancellor to a stance.

2. 24m. Climb to the base of the long chimney directly above. Gain the chimney directly via a 5m double crack, then continue up to the large chockstone.

3. 18m. Climb out around the chockstones and up the final corner crack.

Takes the face up the RHS of the buttress.
