This climb is a real blast. One of the sweetest multi's around and at a Goldilocks grade. I reckon it is destined to be very popular but don't underestimate the seriousness of this place as there is no abseil escape.

We linked pitches 1 & 2 and 5 & 6, both about 35m and lots of draws. Could also link 3 and 4 but we were a bit spooked after a big rock ripped off on p3. Still very crumbly but most of the big loose stuff has already been trundled. Apart from a few (totally avoidable) loose blocks on ledges and in proximity to the route it’s super clean and rad climbing. Wild exposure. So intimidating being all alone at the base of that wall with only one way out, epic!

I am assuming this is the same route as listed on thesarvo. Swearah Boyle 80m, 10 located at Tullah 2.5km down Murchison Dam access rd. The walk in access is harder and more full on than the climb. The rock quality is truly bad, and the gear is even worse, largely jamming nuts between two pebbles and each of these is several metres apart. Good luck route finding - repeat or FA I will never truly know what we did today. By far the trashiest I have done in my 25years of climbing. Highly recommended, just so you can find out how lucky you are in your normal climbing area. Well I'm off to the hospital now; after hours off scrub bashing abuse, I'm going to see if they can give me a skin graft for my arms and legs.

Wed 15th Nov 2017
I can certainly say, that for the mild 10 years I've been climbing, that for the variety I've climbed this is by far the worst. Good luck getting there as the walk in and out is at least twice as hard as the climb. As for the climb, the rock quality is trash and covered with moss. Belay points are few and let's just say tracks and even a single solid tree or abseil point are hard to come by. If you think I'm exaggerating a little you're always welcome to try your luck.

Engaging slab climbing well worth the visit. Approach by scrambling down to the top of the waterfall from rock pools. Can be damp depending on water flow so judge for yourself. Most bolts are damaged somewhat from floods Including one full TBB that's virtually unusable so be ready to do some weird verticle anchors. Trad gear may also be useful.

Awesome day out. Can make it as difficult or as easy as you want. Huge views, interesting terrain, and the sharpest, grippiest rock I've ever felt. A few moments where the slab turns into real climbing with some big exposure and 2 or 3 chimneys to squeeze down. No ropes needed but would be handy in an emergency.

Amazing rest day fun (though not overly restful...) Check out the description on Thesarvo for more detail, some incredible views that are very well-earnt by some difficult scrambling and route-finding in, around and through (yep) boulders.

Incredible friction from the rock, some great chimney moments and lots of slabbing. Make it as easy or difficult as you want, but definitely harder than 3.

Bring stacks of water, it's hot up there and all of the tarns and dry riverbeds we found look like they rarely last.

7hr30min from Sleepy Bay carpark to Mt Amos carpark. Could easily blow out to a much longer day if you make a few navigation errors.

Wow! Bush bashing was just as hard as the few sections of grade 8 climbing. Started raining as we got the final peak after route finding our way suspiciously through the traverse. Cairns disappeared for us for an hour or so in the middle. I wore trail runners with friction x soles and they really struggled. Needs approach shoes but nothing more I wouldn’t reckon.

Had lots of fun doing this route with my girlfriend. We didn't end up climbing Mt Amos, but we did the 3 before it. Forgot to take a map. Could have been useful, navigation was tricky. No climbing if you choose the right path. We did two 15m abseils into the ravines before Mt Dove. There was already some tat in each spot around boulders. A good day out if you're looking for a challenging bush walk with hard route finding, a bit of exposure, cool landforms and great views.

Great adventure. Took us around 6.5 hours from Sleepy bay to Mt Amos car park. I wore my beaten up trail runners and they were fine (except the sharp granite slabs definitely chewed the tread up over the day). The section between Mt Bourdon and Mt Dove was the most challenging with route finding, and we seemed to be off-route for what felt like a concerning hour, until we somehow came good. Hitchhiked back to the car time for a swim and beer by the beach.

Big wall'in on a big sea cliff. Pay close attention to the rap description, as andy and myself got off line and a rope stuck. Poor andy had to prussic 40 odd metres to free the rope and a big swing by myself to get back on line.

We did the 20 start with a wild and memorable belay 3m above the surging sea. Make sure you climb left on the second pitch.. The two hard pitches up top are great fun with the 23 crux crack boulder problem awesome fun.

Be sure to continue trending right on the second to last rap. We ended up on a false "botanical ledge" when we didn't keep right and I rapped off it into open space. Had to climb back out through a ton of loose rock. One of which fell on my rap line and gave it a nice core shot. After our scary near miss we decided to skip the first two pitches and continue up. All clean bar a fall on the crux of the 23 pitch.

Amazing exposure, position and moments of brilliant climbing. Marred by the worst rock I've climbed in Tassie (choss, dirt and flakiness), and some contrived bolting to force inferior climbing. Led P2, P3 & P4 (Link), P6, and P7 & P8 (link). 2nd Clean all others. Fell of on the last hard moves of P2 grabbing rubble instead of rock on the final throw (needs another bolt, took a bad whip on the slab)... I went Direct (felt 25), but chalk shows most people going way out right to avoid the crux??

A good adventure in an awesome, intimidating place. I led p1,3,5,7 & 8 in mixed free/aid ('fraid) style, which is what you do when the big scary ocean that wants to swallow you and all the loose rock that wants to squash you makes you feel a bit 'fraid. We brought the portaledge and spent the night at Deano's ledge just for the hell of it. Great spot to sit, sip whisky and watch the ocean.

Great day out. Got lost on the rap in (probably didn't traverse far enough right on the 2nd rap off Deano's Ledge, and then the rap down to the Botanical Ledge we followed a line of bolts that weren't the climbing route but could have been the correct rap route??), but eventually made it to the belay 2m above the water for the first pitch. Choss in places but good climbing on most pitches.

An incredible day - booming waves, strong winds and great climbing. I found pitch 2 to be quite straight forward, with the 23 & 22 requiring more effort and concentration. Managed to link a bunch of pitches - did the route in 5 pitches. Pulled a sizable block off from pitch 6. All in all, a phenomenal route with a reputation that doesn't disappoint.

great day with some stunning climbing. Had a rest on P2 . Thought the route could be renamed chalk is cheap given the excess! Back to the van before the rain
