Ascents as Tick by Dan Johnson

I started up this thinking I was on the 14 so when I got to the crux at the top I got to thinking this isnt a 14 so I stepped right, and seemingly finished up the 14, so should I write this up as a new route or a linkup? It was ok I guess maybe I need to do it again and try the top gr17 bit? Or is what I did way cooler and maybe I need to claim a FA

Pleasant enough but wouldn’t do again hardly a “beginners lead” the gear was kinda non existent at the start, definitely not 2 stars compared to other routes at the same area. Lower offs were a nice addition

Wow my fitness impressed me, best get into trying something for real.

21 seems fair for this line, looks like a few holds have evolved and made them self scarce under the roof making it that bit more difficult than gr20

Great crux / start sequence let down by the grubby headwall that has never really found its vogue with traffic due to no real clear line, luckily my belayer bought a brush and started the scrub gonna be a while

Really great warmup route

Unintentionally found a no hands kneebar at the ledge spoiling my “clean ascent”, nice crux easier once warmed up.

Awful spooky dirty warmup. Considered bailing but my belayer wanted a top rope burn so I forged on. wigged out at the end and grabbed the bolt while I put the draw on wasn’t prepared to eat shit.

The top section of this climb is as amazing as it gets including an all but perfectly to spec, mirage pocket 3 finger version, placed anywhere else would be suggested as a drilled pocket, this is brilliant climbing one of the best at the grades at sand river , it also boasts the greatest lower offs too. 😉

Collected my first Tasmania tiger of the wall, can’t say I’m in a hurry to collect any more they’re not nearly as coveted as what I was lead to believe, bold climbing huge runouts, but a worthwhile trip, pitch 4 was the best,

About as classic as sand river gets for the grade, jug hauling all the way to the top, if you cant say you enjoyed this your a miserable bum.

Airy finish at the grade very worthwhile climb. Good warmup.

The dyno start on this is the best great fun. Very short though. worth while doing it

True what they say about this classic, repeat ascent to take the fixed draws down they’re nearly worn through from all the traffic.

Psyched to put this one away, needs a repeat to confirm grade maybe a bit soft but it’s is generally my anti style so I’m unsure, finger strength has improved, rad crux sequence unusual style at the grade for Sr get on it

the start is ok if you dont blow a pulley, the crux sequence is mega cool as, the finish is blah, half a star worth one trip.

Nearly a classic this line got it first go warming up, some legend has put perma draws on the route boom it’s all there no excuses now get on it.

My second ascent on this route inspired me to cleanup it up, that plus there were no red handled brushes left so I wanted to prove worth of the green ones, it has cleaned up fantastic and wow what a climb everyone will enjoy it the traverse is maybe a tad tricky at 20, and ordinary rock at 3rd height needs to be added to the whole picture but it sure deserves a star and at least one trip up it.

Seemed a bit contrived at the start the climbing from halfway up was ok

Fairly easy warmup into the roof, couldn’t top as it was raining and was super wet, horrible rope drag. I don’t doubt I would of got it first shot. Onsight. But I’ll just take a tick

Setting top ropes for toby, bit easier than 16 hence the downgrade, Great kids climb,
