Ascents in Huaraz having Beta

Nice to get some climbing in. Introductory crag to climbing around Huaraz.

The first half is great but then the rock is very brittle and the top is covered in lichen. The one to the right is much nicer.

Hard start but nice holds for the first few bolts. The upper part of the face wasn't the nicest rock.

What a line! Pretty steep on amazing rock inside the cave with a strong move to pull over the small roof. Stiff for the grade at this altitude.

Amazing route! A couple of bellies to negotiate, some thin vertical parts, well bolted... absolute classic!

Good easy fun but then a tricky finish to clip the anchor.

What a beauty! Messed up the on-sight go a few meters up but went up again straight away and knocked it off. Pretty thin for the first bolts then cool formations in the middle up to an easier finish.

It's a bit weird at the start with the traverse but totally worth it for the final few meters of climbing up the face.

Glorious fun all the way up.

Tried at the end of the day. Was clueless between the 3rd and 4th bolt.

A little bit thin at the start then super cruisy to the top.

Fun start on great features then classic Hatun Machay face climbing to the top.

Tricky start then nice face climbing on small but good holds.

Sustained climbing on pockets with a slight overhang. Super nice but not in good enough shape for this one yet.

Nice line up the greyish black streak to the left of the sector. Just didn't have the stamina to get the on-sight.

Epic line up the longest part of the wall. Pretty sustained through the middle with a good bit of exposure thrown in. Amazing route!

Pretty stiff for the grade if you go direct to the first bolt and not the easy way right. A bit polished but still nice enough.

Nice moves on hold that are worse than they look.

Super nice crux sequence over the belly. Tricky for the onsight at 4200m.

Pure joy on amazing rock.

Tough on the skin and tricky crux about half way up.

Fantastic route, fun start on amazing rock. Listed as 6a in the topos in town, seems fair.

Beautiful climbing on super cool rock.

Shares the anchor with the 6a to the right so gave it a toppie burn. Great fun!

Pretty tricky start for 5.9 going straight to the first bolt, easier if you start a bit to the right.

Fun route with the little bit overhang at the start to take your breath away at 4200m!

Incredible views from the top. Rock has lots of great holds. A couple bolts were not at top shape but they’re still fine.

Schöne technische Kletterei

Das Aussteigen aus dem Überhang war mit klammen Fingern nicht so ohne...

Fast etwas zu leicht, aber zum Aufwärmen ok.

Erste Seillänge etwas flechtig, deshalb Haken schwer erkennbar, aber super Fels und schöne Kletterei, Absicherung ok.
