Ascents in Brisbane by Nick Foulds

Solid progress on day one. Going for the drop down to the mantle. Back to it next Fri.

Interesting boulder. The intricacy is in the first move. Top out is tentative but as long as you have reach pretty straightforward. I don't think it has hard enough movement or holds to be V7.

Really nice moves and good holds, some bits that are a bit tricky and force you out of comfort. Makes for the grade. Felt like it should have gone quicker, generous holds most of the way but a bit of awkward footwork prior to gaining the crimp (or I was overthinking it!). Excellent route, nice mantle to finish too.

Had a fairly weak couple of attempts at getting this done. Still feeling a bit underpower, will come back for it.

Still very hard. May have worked out a little more beta on last visit but the connect from this start to start holds of Aerial Turkey is still desperate.

Repeat of Aerial Turkey first go of the day. Was still good

Excellent bloc at the grade. Rare to find something this good at such a nice entry level difficulty.

Excellent bloc. Sent 2 ways. Right toe and back flag probably harder start than frog front on start.

Still can;t get my head around committing to the final move. Did feel the sidepull prior to the lip this time though, so new high point and figured the beta for the sidepull switch to undercling that I will use around the 2nd to 3rd clip. Nice route, looking forward to ticking it soon.

One of the best routes at KP. Quality rock and great movement the whole way. Not to mention it makes you feel like a boss. First clean redpoint of this, pleased with the style and quality of this send (if I do say so myself).

Great Route. such interesting climbing and a spicy mantle at the end. Absolute must do for budding leaders at this grade, will teach a lot.

Always gives me pause at the lower crux. I seem to do it wrong 80% of the time and then once in a while it goes like butter. One day I will remember the correct sequence through that lower crux!

FINALLY sent this route! After years of getting close, then getting distracted by other stuff and forgetting everything by the time I returned! I finally put it all together. Also Alex sent it 2 goes later on his first day trying it. Very Nice!

Very poopy top out but nice juggy holds pretty much the whole way. Excellent route.

Excellent route. Enjoyed this first proper session on it a LOT. Got all the moves from the bottom to the bump from the matched pinch rail. Figured out the following hold after being 'done'. Looking forward to next trip.

The mantle top out coupled with the awkward fall (if it were to happen) make this top a bit spicy. I made it much worse than it needed to be!

Used back boulder for foot. Doesn't count as proper send. Have done it in the past with Chris Green and Dan Godson.

Good climbing, shame it rained a little. Will be back to lead this I think.

Did the hard move then let my head fail me on the moves above to gain the slab!

Multiple falls, respointes to the 3rd bolt hang doggy style. Felt very strenuous. Leandro clipped the remaining draws. I followed up for my second attempt and it felt HARD the whole way pretty much, crux between 3 and 4th and 2nd between 4th and 5th and at the anchor!

Enjoy this route more each time I do it.

Glad this went today. Didn't get it the last time I tried. Was nice to redo it and not find it desperate! Perhaps that sport climbing does help occasionally ☺️

Such a good line. Penultimate hold is potentially going to snap though.

Got to put some time into this. Got a lot of the moves dialled now but some links missing still.

Jumped on this for the first time today. Hard moves!

Really enjoyed this, forgot I had been on it around a year and a bit ago. Felt like brand new! Got the pinkpoint on my second run at it today. Love the sequence through the crux.
