Ascents in Glasshouse Mountains as Onsight

First lead climb practice run outdoors on our own. Very easy one but anchor was awkward for the first rundown.

Softer 18 than Gravitational equilibrium.

Best route on the cliff. One part was quite reachy and my partner struggled with that move a little. Otherwise a few ‘mantly’ moves which was fun. Big ledges to stand on for the anchor too.

Great outing! Adventurous vibes but very safely protected. P4 & 5 were standouts - airy position and fun moves.

Got lost on Remains of the Day

Overall fun slab climbing. The chimney was great. Highly recommend climbing the crack/flake as P7, which is a great addition. P6b has 2x BR as protection now.

Was a challenge as a true onsight (no chalk on the wall) yet crux felt easier for the grade using a very positive crimp to the right. I suspect this is the "addition" due to the rock scaring.

Contender for SEQ’s hardest 22. Very funky and alot of fun. Adventurous!

Fantastic entry level adventure trad.

First pitch lead by Pat then the rest by me. First time using double ropes for two seconders.

Gear isn't as bad as reputed, there are some relatively large runouts but only on grade ~4ish terrain.

Crux move is on pitch 2 but is unexposed and short. Chimney pitch has easier technical climbing (Grade 6-9 moves) but fairly sustained and exposed.

Left the chimney too early and got run out & off-route on absolute garbage rock and then went back in the chimney and stayed there too long and topped out the pitch on the right.

I brought a 4 & a 5 and placed both but could probably do without. 3 60cm slings is not enough to stop heinous rope drag if you sew things up.

Scariest part of the day was when someone seconding pitch one of zeitgeist found a microwave sized block to yank off

P1 was reasonable, crux moving left below the overhang is a bit spicy but overall there is okay pro. P2 was shocking. The rock is rotten and chossy - it was crumbling in my hands trying to grab the holds and place pro. P3 quite runout for the last 15-20m. Then you face a “P4” of bush bashing. Wouldn’t recommend this climb to friends or enemies!

Simuled the first 2 pitches. Excellent Crux pitch, stemmy with good gear. Traversed at 7th pitch into Ross Miller to cave 5, quite the traverse.

Big day linking this with Sideshow Bob. Really nice to finally get on Trojan and lucky (Thanks Achi) to get to lead the money pitch. Achi linked the first and last two pitches.

Fun day out, crux pitch climbs really well with good gear.
