Ascents as Flash as sport by Alexei Drummond

Alex got me all the beta Fun moves but probably on the soft end of the grade.

Warm up. Nice crimps for the first 3 bolts.

This would be a hard onsight. The crux at the last bolt is tricky and it is hard to put the draw in first so the head game also comes into play with a ledge below.

So freaking good Hard bouldery start into technical climbing between breaks with a very delicate crux high up.

Hollow flakes. Passing time. First route on the trip that I wouldn’t recommend.

Been a long time since I tried this hard. Very cool route with a fun overhanging intro that is chill if you know the beta and can handle frogging on your feet to rock over. The real climb is the slabby headwall which is thin and very technical with a deep mono at one point and potential for heartbreak right at the top. I was close to coming off a few times. Memorable.

Flash, but not in the best style. I had the second bolt pre-clipped because I didn't want to break my leg on the first day of the trip After climbing it I realised it would have been just fine as it was the moves from 2nd to 3rd that form the crux.

Nice little route. Quite off-balance in a couple of places, cool movement.

Super fun version of the crag classic Coller de Hors. Takes in the full crux without the 16 climbing at the top that requires a 75m rope

Very cool route! Also very dirty. Was lucky that Andrew cleaned this, as the onsight would have been mega hard. I was still very happy to flash this as the moves are quite technical through the scoop to the last clip.

Quite fun climbing, if a bit chossy at the top and bottom. Fun traverse. Not so fun to clean.

A couple of steep moves through the bulge, but all the holds are jugs.

What a wicked route! Felt more like an onsight as only the first three draws were in and nobody had managed to work out or get through the dihedral moves before I had my go. It wasn’t over after the low crux. Mega climb and definitely my proudest flash. Must do classic in my book.

Warm up and re-introduction to lead climbing for Aiden. He did very well! We all climbed it as one long pitch as intended.

Pumpy fun. Really need to shake out well in the middle section if you want the top to feel steady. Climbed as one long pitch as intended.

The boulder problem at the bottom is really cool, but very hard for a 6b. After clipping the 8th bolt the difficult part of the climb is over. Some of the bolts are very rusty.

Super happy with this flash. Some hard moves, but having had a rest day, plus perfect conditions and fresh routes made for a fun day.
