Happy to finally give this one a go. Felt harder than it looks, like usual. All the moves are dialled I guess... Just need power entrance for the campus crux

Long day! We went in 2 parties of 2, and it took us longer than expected. There's a well marked path, but we still managed to get lost on the walk in. Rapped on a fixed 70m line, and had to do another 2 abseiles because the second rope wouldn't reach the ground... First pitch felt pumpy, and really fun! Second pitch was the easiest Third pitch can be tricky!! But Bruno found a better beta that made it way easier then what I did...

To exit we swang across to the main wall and climbed the top 3 pitches of Welsh Dragon. First bolt on the 19 pitch is dangerously run out! Careful!

Really good. Tried to onsight this, but didn't realise how much the route wanders left and right, ended up in a trap and couldn't save it.

Laps.. Happy to send this one again after so long

I like how the anchors are far back on the roof forcing the use of the undercling

The crimpy section half way was a bit hard... My partner found some better holds on the left, but I had to fight for the onsight..

I finally took the time to tick this one! Tried it a couple of times before, but always had one attempt each time. Now it went, first go. The slab before the roof is a bit tricky, but it feels easy when you know what to do. The roof is just finding the jugs and heels, lots of fun! I think this is my favorite climb in Mt Alexandra

Warm up lap

I couldn't stick the gaston move from the ground, although I can do it in isolation consistently. I heard there was a "tall people beta" for the crux, so I gave it a shot and it felt so much easier! And I'm not that tall (1.79m). Instead of doing the gaston, you palm right, bring the left foot in the slot, and reach the jug. The description doesn't say that right hand palm is off, and on the YouTube videos I've watched, everybody uses it for the foot while resting on the jugs.

I still feel like that gaston move is the "soul" of the climb, and I want to come back to it and do it properly. If this is true, then maybe someone should specify it on the description...? The way I did, it felt closer to a 24 then a 26.

Harder than I expected. Sharp holds use up your skin very quickly! Felt good with the moves, hopefully it goes in the next session!

I had one attempt at this today, but couldn't find the beta for the last couple of moves. First 27 I've ever tried! Maybe too hard for a first?
