A great afternoon (in the sun) with Mungo. I was pleased to climb through the P2 crux after a little rest on the rope depite almost losing consciousness from dehydration. I was also very happy to redpoint the last pitch despite fiddling with gear a lot and getting pumped. I think pitches 1, 3 and 4 are probably only about 20, and pitch 5 might be 21

My first attempt at a trad lead! (only building up enough courage to try because of Pete placing a billion pieces of gear for me). I got through the crux move after wasting 10 minutes on the wall trying to commit to the smeary feet. I grabbed the next jug hand only to fall off 5 seconds later loosing all semblance of good climbing form cause of my tired arms. I am majorly stoked to have trusted the gear enough to fall on it. Although I didn't get the send I am proud of doing all the moves none the less. Had a blast and am keen to do more trad now!

We woke up tired and sleepy from an epic the night before, not having dinner until midnight and getting to bed at 1am. In true dirtbag fashion we had a Cafe breakfast and pastry in katoomba while we discuss what to climb. Our last climb in the bluies after 3 weeks here, it was meant to be bunny but yet agajn that didn't happen... not that we cared because placing gear is more fun that clipping bolts. We set off for the day with heaps of Cams and all still waking up. I lead the first pitch which was going well until the crux... I messed up the sequence, had the hands wrong so missed the hold resulting in a whip. Second whip on gear having my first the day prior, this one wasn't so nice I landed right on the branch that was in the crack it was PAINFUL. Took a minute to calm down and kept going, figured out the crux and kept going feeling like I'd got through the hardest part. I was wrong.. there was the traverse of terror!! I thought I was in for a day of crack climbing but end up with face climbing and traverses!! I was very scared because although I knew I was safe it'd be a bad fall. Absolutely trembling I step across and get to the ledge only to find no gear!! Easy terrain but scary run out, finally I get to the belay ledge. I build the anchor and curl into a ball under the bush as I belay alex and Liam up. Liam leads the second pitch which is an awesome effort with all the greenery in the crack. I go last taking the backpack which is my favourite thing to carry when there is chimneys... fun pitch but had to hang the pack from my harnesses when there was an offwidth then back on for face climbing (did this 3 times) while trying not to fall off. During this pitch I asked myself is this climbing or tree climbing? Besides from the bushes it was a really fun pitch whknc I found very engaging. Reaching the top absolutely exhausted and in time for some pizza and beer.
