Climbing is awesome, bolting is not (positions, and rust). Climbed to first crux onsight, worked this out (it's a foot dyno); but the top crux is unnecessarily way above the bolt. Took the fall once and pendulumed hard into the cliff, smashed up my arm. Took the fall twice and had enough. Needs a rebolt.

Was gunning for the huge 40m 7b that splits off this. Two metres into the 7b it became clear someone had sprayed extra virgin olive oil all over the cliff. Traversing back to the 6b, I thought I would do it instead. A few more bolts up I turned into a lizard in a bathtub. Tried all the tricks. Forcefeeding chalk to the holds. Chalking my boots. Chanting "Ondra, Ondra, Ondra!" Nope. Stop! Whipper time! Might as well have been 8c, there was no getting up this today by fair means or foul.

I'd been thinking about this route since the late 90s when Doug established it and my friend Jason came very close to climbing it before ending his life. I was keen to put it to bed, and it likely would have happened had I not pulled off the crucial glued-on jug at the 3/4 point. The route will be in the ~28 region once it's re-glued. Small holds, pretty painful and tenuous.
