Ascents as Flash by Roman

Fiesty crimping in the crux. Felt more 7b.

Pretty sweet to Flash this 55m excursión on my warm up. (though I felt it was more 7a+?! ,.. if you know how to jam) it's got it all, thin slab to start, then steep fun jugs, one or two boulder moves and some crack climbing to finish.

Yeew.. First flash at the garde.. It all just flowed so well.. Even the technical bits.. Incredible incredible route.. One of the best iv ever done

Epic!! Very intricate starting traverse which is probably the crux.. Into a long steep roof crossing in to the centre of the cave.

Asweome traverse with the crux at 2.5m and the top out not too hard but still thought provoking

To first anchors, felt more 6c+/7a rather than a 7a+ from guide.

Yeew!! had everything going for me, knew it was a softie, draws were up, was warm and had good beta, thank you Pete! that last move was an epic throw to victory 😅

The style of climbing at this crag and the structure of the rock made for some of my most enjoyable climbing iv ever done.. I actually prefer this to much of the sandstone style.. big statement.. But it's the feeling it gave me

Round trip car to car was just over 13 hours with 2 parties of 2. Everyone was efficient and the parties gave each other space to work. The pole is in a spectacular position, good rock with perfect friction. Felt easier than the 22 on moai pole so was nice to bag this one quick, get a selfie at the top, and smash out the return journey hahah there are 2 bolts at the top of the 8m chimney. So if one doesn't want to solo it, you can fix a short rope, rapp it, then use your micro trax or whatever and top-rope-solo it out. The 5m chimney needs to be soloed I think..

Mega classic . A long technical sustained testpiece at 19! Full tripple rack does it. This felt more like a journey than a pitch of climbing.. Finger locks, hand jams, fist jams, layback, stemming.. The full package! What an amazing route! Rapped after p1 (40m). Flash because I saw some one on it although I climbed it very different so more of an onsight really.

Mega classic! This thing is a beast!! 50m pitch then rapped off. Nothing too technical but long and brutal towards the top. Never carried so much gear for a singl pitch. Double/tripple in the smaller to medium cams.. Quads for #2/#3, 2x#4. Make sure to pull the rapp rope knot far down and out of the crack before rapping down and then pulling it, as it will get stuck in the crack at top!

P1 only. Really good technical crimping at start! Felt hard.. Almost came off

Good crack to good face climbing!

Climbed in one pitch which was an adventure and a bit outrageous really. Takes the longest line of the wall up the most beautiful rock. As mentioned.. The two rope technique works a treat to reduce drag. Even though it may not be politically correct to call this a flash as I have climbed the starting flake on my onsight of "spoilt brats" I feel I flashed this route as all the hard/significant bits are afer the "access" flake.

Best route of the weekend! The finger crack section has incredibly satisfying finger locks..the whole climb was just stellar! everything had good pro. Loved 0.3-0.5 cams. And lots of medium nuts. Only saw now from the description that I didn't actually finish it.. As I rapped off the chains.. Oh well.. Guess I'll have to do it again 😋

Very good with sustained tricky climbing.. just squeaked through for a flash. Stuck to the left of the crack and didn't touch anything on the right wall.

Mega arete led as one pitch. Some outrageously cool moves and positioning. Rapped down it and did sneak a peak at the rock on the short 23 bit so logging a flash.

So much roof for the grade!! Love it

Awesome crux moves

Book says it's unprotected and stiff. So I took the challenge. First 2/3 metres there isn't much (just get a good spot through the juggy starting flake) then got aboue 8 decent placements and some really nice moves. Yes the crack is bit dirty/sandy in places but you don't jamb much. Gear beta: few small wires down low in the thin crack. Few small cams and #5 was nice higher (in pockets/breaks). One thread, plus 2 bomber friends .5 & .75 in the handcrack section at top. Logging a flash as I did rap over it to assess placements
