Goes on gear the whole way with an extra star, another Sydney trad gem. Save big gear for the top - I used BD #s 5 and 6 to protect the top flaring chimney. The direct finish to Vitez is the most obvious line in this sea of contrived mixed routes.

The approach notes in the Simon Carter are a little confusing as they make it seem that this route is way down the left end of the wall. Unearthed and the other routes not in the photo topos are located before reaching the main wall on the south facing extreme right end of heathcliff. Unearthed is the first route you come to after crossing the creek and scrambling up hill to the base of the wall. Starts in an obvious corner near some skinny trees. Has a bit of everything but only maybe 20m of real quality climbing. All gear belays except for three carrots on top of the route. The direct exit up the steepening corner (P4) is not as loose as it looks though throughout the route you should avoid thin/weak looking rock as much as possible.

Spat off the crux. Amazing line with easier moves and better gear than it first appears. Chain belay on the left route (with the funny hangers) is easily accessed and avoids the dirty top out. 60m rope seemed just a tad too short to reach the ground when the gear was still in the route, but may make it on rope stretch.

Nice mixed route with a variety of gear and some vintage carrots. Thought provoking crux is gear protected. Guidebook description for how to get off wasn't immediately obvious/the tree I think it was referring to is set back from the edge and would make pulling ropes difficult. We walked back towards IS31 and down the wide gully in between there and Cosmed area.
