Ascents in New Zealand as Working

Actually clipped the fourth draw this time, but got desperate and grabbed the 5th bolt after placing it over the ledge. I see why some recommend skipping that clip. Not quite a hangdog but definitely an improvement on the first go.

Working go. Worked my way up to the anchors bolt to bolt, grabbing a couple of quickdraws in the process. Quite a muscular climb, but I will give it another go to see if it feels any easier.

Grabbed the 4th bolt because I hadn’t found the correct clipping hold on right hand. Topped it out and have all the moves now.

Wikid climb, easy climbing right to the crux which is a one move wonder. Gonna have to go back and get it

Can't get 3 fingers in the main pocket was not happy to pull on two fingers for the move

Best climb of it to date, good placements that all held. Also cleaned large block off the top of the climb.

Goes from easy to hard very quickly. The crux is between the last bolt and the anchors Need to be fresh fo the last moves and I wasn't

Just before the crux was wet and my finger injury is still playing up holding the crux hold will be back soooo close to sending

bit of a one-move-wonder of a route. I really don't think this is a thing if you're short, I'm 5"2/160cm, unless you fancy a semi-dyno onto a high crimp, starting from invisible feet and a wrist-snapping undercling. in which case, that one move feels a solid few grades harder.

Fourth time tying in. Just going up it again to clean off the gear. Remembering the moves. Too tired for a proper attempt, so just grabbing the fourth and fifth bolts again.

First go. Conditions are perfect. Working out the moves. Climbed clean to clip the third bolt on this first effort. Then grabbed the next two draws to get to the top.

Both cruxes dialed; now need to link back-to-back.

Quite hard start leads to laybacks on sloping crimps, further you get a good knee bar for forth clip with no right feet. After 4th clip easy to the top. Got to wait for the rain to pass to send.

very moist bottom section. very powerful upper section. need better everything for next attempt

Put the gear up and checked out the moves. Wondered if the right provided some beta breaking opportunities.

Tried out the moves again. Linked some sections. Seems hard.

Putting the gear up. Climbed beyond the third bolt cleanly but still hadn't worked out the beta to clip the fourth bolt. After a take I found a nice sidepull for the right hand and worked out the left hand and feet to go to the far right edge for 4th bolt clipping position. I was trying to conserve energy so I grabbed the fifth draw after I put it in, hence this is not logged as a hangdog.

Had a high point which is moving from matched sloper crimp rail below 2nd bolt out left to other sloper crimp rail and moving feet across. Need to work out best way to step up onto that face and crank up for next crimps. (High right foot on rail? Chip instead?)

Dogged with some pulling on draws, amongst other tricks. Felt really hard, maybe 25/26? TBC, obviously. Could be a cool route.
