Ascents as Hang dog as trad by Chris Harper

Drop tested an orange totem cam in the chalked pocket and it held without issue. Plus a little tug on some gear mid way to save me from pulling too hard.

Climbed most of it with some sitting on the rope to save my injured finger. Would love to come back and lead it some day.

Had a really good flash attempt but then fluffed my red point. Will have to come back for another shot.

Dogged a lap to warm up. Felt fairly straight forward apart from the crux move.

Didn't spy a crucial (for me) crux footer before committing.

Fun little climb. (First day post knee surgery)

Too slow with the gear at the crux. Had a sit.

Whipped off climbing over the bulge.

Feeling weak after taking a beating on Parallax.

Read well but whipped off just before the ledge up high. Had difficulty getting off the ledge to the undercling.

Quickly stuffed in a shallow cam (which popped) right before the top then ran out of gas for the move! Should have just gone for it.

Every bit 23. A couple of falls.

What a route! Fell off near the top when i started thinking more about the fall than the climbing.

One sit near the bottom.

Linked P3&4 of El Suprimo into the top pitch of Lebensraum. Sensational face climbing in the bottom pitch with a difficult crux. The top pitch is an absolutely stellar clip up arete. Fell off the final move in fast fading light.

After trying a couple of different approaches i can see how this goes. Could be 22.

Made it to the anchors this time, fair way from sending tho.

One rest up top. Could be 23.

Clean after a sit getting off the ground.

Dogged to finish putting the gear on.

Great line, unlocks nicely with some good technique. Fell of just short of the jug at the top of the crux.

Hard work to feed gear into the slots while your hands are in them and a bit short to go for it without good gear!

Lead the gear into the top half this time. Came off right at the top of the section with bad feet on my lead attempt. Better to leave the rope in the P1 gear for P2 - lighter to pull up when clipping.

What a ripper! Clean apart from a sit to retrieve a booty link cam. Score!!

Crappy rock after the ledge, wet up top and desperate near the top! Should have warmed up on Return to Gariwerd instead!

P1: Flash, P2: Dog. Gave it a run while the gear was on. Great climbing! Lacked commitment on P2 and opted for a sit. Turns out the gear was mistakenly rigged for a super direct (and super hard) finish so had an exciting runout to the top!

P2: Tag teamed with Steve to lead the gear in. Best effort was 2 rests + a hang to experiment with the sequence to the arete.

Lost focus mid way up and had a fall. Pretty stoked to get the rest clean. Good quality sustained slabbing.

Fumbled the jug at the end of the crux and popped off. Stellar route!

First pitch gave me hell but got up the second clean. Came off the dyno to the tree and had lots of trouble with the thin hands crack. Very neat technical rising traverse on the second pitch with lots of small gear.

Jamming through the sizes from tight tips to hands. Short but packs a punch!

Spent way too long fiddling with gear and came off the upper crux.

Doh. Not so many friendly stemming ledges on this one. Lacked speed and commitment, moves aren't too hard.

Lost the will to fight and had a flop onto the rope on P2. Pretty gnarly! Onsight P3, more like 19/20?

Great line! Features pop up and disappear perfectly for a sustained yet varied climb. One rest on P2 not realising i was meant to keep traversing left, P3 was very easy at the grade.

Attempted ground up placing gear on lead. Had a fair few sits but climbed all the moves cleanly, linking a good section between the lower crux and the top of the peapod.

Got the fumbles at the crux and took a spectacular whip, climbed easily second shot.

Lacked technique at the crux. Hung out for ages trying to work it out, eventually went for it and popped just as I thought I was home.

Clean 2nd

Took forever at the crux, hurt my shoulder aided on past. My first taste of aiding...

First trad fall, nice and clean! Great route for pushing your grades.
