The first pitch was brilliant with some finger jamming and laybacking than was accompanied with some committing vertical smearing. The second pitch was long and I mean long but only because it's slab and it took me much longer to send it. I had to rest off on one of this pitches draws so i could take my shoes off and give my toes a serious relief moment. Third pitch was quite a fun one with a little thinking and a small amount of commitment.

Placed a 'jesus' cam in the head high ledge as the first carrot would've been a grounder otherwise. Attached the crux on the wrong side then took the obvious route and glided through it. No more carrots after the crux with a slow and steady top out around the tree and to the anchors. Had to tie in direct and bring the rope around the tree to avoid ring barking the tree in the lower. Excellent climb and worthy of its star.

As expected for a sea side cliff (especially at the mouth to a gully) there's a bit of sand floating about. The key is not to use those holds. I found lots of alternate holds and got through the climb (on the dog sadly) with no serious issues. It's a steep 18 which offers a good challenge. Certainly earns the two stars. Did it on a sunny and warm day which added to the fun of it. Make sure you avoid high tide and slip slop slap if you're there before the afternoon.

19 17 | ★ Left Hand Slab - with John Hollott | 13m, 5 | ★★ Very Good | |||
Got to the crux and had my feet all messed up. Due to the TINY crimpers, moist finger tips and the slab effect I couldn't arrange my feet to continue through. This climb is NOT a 17. Sand bag of the 19 kind!

Managed to do the entire climb today but had to rest on each draw due to pump factor. Utterly brilliant climb !

Enjoyable climb unto the overhang which is where it gets trick. Gota dynov for the decent ledge above the last draw.

Nothing to write home about. Holds are very rough on the old fingers which made the climb less enjoyable.

An amazing climb offering all styles of climbing except ceiling. Amazing holds (some hidden) and some sensational height for a Sydney climb.
Offically my favourite climb in Sydney! |
